  1. Watched the whole game and I must say I was really impressed by Chatzigiovannis. He went out on the field with absolutely no fear and he showed some great technical abilities. He reminded me a bit of Ninis when he first started playing. This kid deserves chances on the first team. Aggelopoulos also seemed rather promising in the midfield. In general all the youngsters did well, and everyone of them had speed. Of the first team players Rinaldi stood out, while Villafanez went from being lousy in the first half to be great in the second. Marinakis and Chouchoumis also played well. On the other hand Vlachodimos showed once again that he should be shipped out in January.Â
  2. ^I'm fully aware of it, I just don't think strong rain is an sufficient excuse to gather as little as 8 000 in a 4 million city.
  3. Not quite sure where to post this, but either way. Im very happy to see that there is an opportunity that the national team will stop playing ALL our games at Karaiskaki. I'm tired of seeing one of the top european national teams constantly play in front of friends and family only,. 8 000 people attended the game versus Cyprus. Our first game of the qualifiers, a game against our brothers, it should have been a football fest in a full stadium. Ideally Karaiskaki will only get games against the top sides like Belgium (perhaps also Bosnia), for the other games AEL FC Arena should be our main stadium, with some games also being played at Pampeloponnisiako, Pankritio and perhaps Kleanthis Vikelidis. The national team is for the whole country, not just Pireaus or Athens.
  4. I'm VERY happy with what I've seen from our team until now in these qualifiers. Not because we have played some amazing football, but because we are slowly turning into the TEAM we were under Santos (and Rehhagel) again. Once again we're seeing a team that is willing to run and fight for eachother, and that plays effective football. Credit to Skibbe for rightfully diagnosing what went wrong under the previous qualifiers, and cleaning up the bourdello we had become. I'm also positive towards what I've seen because this is a new team, and there is, in my opinion, a lot of potential once we gain more chemistry and experience, especially in our offensive play. Obviously our defence is rock solid (especially once Tzavelas returns), but offensivly i think we show a lot of promise thats needs time to be worked on. As for Cholevas quitting, i say good riddance if he doesn't accept siiting on the bench. We have Tzavellas that rightfully is preferred over him in a 4 man defence, and behind we have Stafylidis who is the future. It's not the first time Cholevas has come across as a bad apple, and lets not forget that he didn't care about his greek heritage before he had the opportunity to play for for a national team that would give him exposure on the big stage.
  5. Any chance you could remind us what you're reffering to file?
  6. No, I've never heard Skibbe comment on Zeca. But in my opinion Zeca would be vital for our national team, he is exactly what we need. He has assets no Greek player have at the moment, and he is a great character as well. He is injury prone? Thats a shame in that case, he plays with a maturity seldom for Greek players at that age.

  8. The problem isn't Alafouzos, it's Greece and it's paper mills. It is in Alafouzos interest that the stadium gets upgraded, as Leoforos at it's current form creates minimal financial income. VIP boxes, the new restaurant and higher capacity will improve that somewhat. What Alafouzos was bullshitting about was getting the building permit within July. Come on we're in Greece, we'll probably never get it, at least not this soon. He knew that all along.
  9. ^Congrats on the weight loss man! As for the shirts, I think the striped ones are among the worst we ever had. They look so damn cheap, like a fake 2013 shirt. It would be better without the white lines one the shoulders and around the collar. I don't like the shade of green either, nor the emblem. The white on the other hand is one of the best we've had for a while. It looks really clean and classy, and I like the buttoned collar. I might get that one!
  10. Yeah I totally agree with you, it should been allowed. It would have increased the capacity.
  11. He's been working on getting his Greek passport for the past year, and according to the reports he will receive it within this fall.
  12. Currently hoping for this lineup in the upcoming qualifiers, with Mantalos replacing Kone if the latter keeps riding the bench in Italy. Another prospect I find very interesting for the midfield is Charisis, as well as Villafanez if he gets a Greek passport.
  13. Yes, because this is allowed in Germany. Those are all German clubs. But as I said, I'm rather sure it's not allowed in the Greek super league.
  14. Standing sections are not allowed in UEFA competitions, and I'm 99% sure it ain't allowed in superleauge either, unfortunately.
  15. Although I doubt it, I really hope all the plans will become reality. I saw my first match at Leoforos in April, and I was shocked by how horrible it was, even if my expectations were extremely low. Its by faaaaaar the worst stadium I've ever been to. No team with ambitions can have a stadium like this.
  16. Myeah...that's not the issue dude.
  17. jvc has good excuses in my opinion. They have started to change the seats and paint the stadium, they havent started to reconstruct it in any way.
  18. Alafouzos can F*** off. He came on the premiss that the club would be run in a democratic fashion through its paying members. But since hijacking the presidency there hasn't been a single election. Thats the reason the symmaxeia has failed in the first place. As for the future of the club, I've for a long time said that the only long term solution is to withdraw from the league. The situation will only get worse, the gays control everything, its over. The greek league is finished. The best solution would be for PAO, PAOK, AEK and Aris to create a mini league. Add a couple other clubs with some crowd like Iraklis, Panachaiki etc. And if the others dont want to join, go to the cypriot FA and ask if you can join their league or something.
  19. If alafouzo is such huge of a m#$%!, the supporters will simply boikot the team untill anastasiou is fired. That simple.
  20. To be honest i dont think Sloukas is worth that kind of money. He does not deserve to earn twice as much as Pappas. According to the protoselido of Tuesdays H Prasini, Gist is staying, wich is great news in my opinion. Aside from that, Vezenkov has withdrawn from the NBA draft, maybe a sign that he has infact agreed with us.
  21. We have become a small team in such short time
  22. Well thats it, see you next year Euroleague. No final four for another year.
  23. WTF? New contract to Pappas, is that it?
