It's a good deal for everyone involved. Had we not let him go then he would have most certainly dropped off. As I said previously, Premier League football (best league in the world, club facilities, money, stadiums) is a dream for every player.

I don't disagree. Just trying to point out that this is the least optimal time for everyone involved. He won't play this week so if his direct competition has a good game it starts him off on the wrong foot. Fortunately for him he will be their record signing [pretty sure about this] so they will definitely want him in the side. He also has zero time to gel with his team and leaves us with a big hole to fill and noone to fill it. Unless this means we get Giovinco [please god no]

  2. Not a fan of this. We are unlikely to be picking up anyone good between now and season start. Despite how we perceive Tzolis drop off in performances there is no doubt he is in our starting XI and we've now weakened our squad. In all likelihood he wont be replaced at all. It is what it is though. We go again.

  3. FFS what did I just watch

    • Omar is not a winger
    • You cannot expect a 35 year old who has had a knee reconstruction to play as a wing back
    • Michailidis is a kourada [I have said this before]
    • Zivkovic is the better keeper
    • It's ok you can change formations and people won't think you have been castrated as a man
    • They are 20 games into their season, I would expect we would also have better touch by that stage of our season too
    • They are a better coached/prepared team
    • Esiti is limited, we know it, the opposition knows it, he knows it, Razvan knows it but refuses to build around what is probably the most important position for our setup. Why not play Omar central and Kagawa wide. Kagawa could find space and Omar provides Esiti the support. Razvan seems obsessed with finding this trequarista for the team but we don't have the player to play that position against ready opponents.

  4. Listen I'm ok with Warda being kicked, but if you set a standard it's gotta be across the board. If you're a hotheaded sook that's unprofessional [Warda], if you're 10-15kgs overweight that's also unprofessional [Diego]. Be ruthless and show the rest of the squad it won't be tolerated. Now it looks like, if you're mates with the coach you can do as you please.

Also on this theory that Tzolis is cooked because he had a quiet second half of the season, do we really think that an 18 year old playing their first full season of senior football will have the same level of consistency from start to finish? Hell, my standard of football at the age of 43 is that of an obese 3 legged goat and yet I still manage to break that consistency and have a couple of decent games in there. Selling him now would be a mistake, there will still be some desperate relegation bound team that will pay over the odds in 6-12 months time. Let's see him in a more structured system like Lucescu's too.

Double damn.  It's a real shame as everyone knows he has a great second half of the season.  He is also the only player I can think of in the squad that has that "x" factor who on his day can turn a game around.  The last players we had that were like that were Henrique and Rodrigues.  Yes, you can't rely on them for consistency but on their day they could devastate the opposition.  Always handy to have a player like that.

Personally I think what Warda showed last season was above Henrique. Even when he wasn't having a dominating game he was effective, Henrique on the other hand was completely absent when he wasn't on song. This is stupid man management from Lucescu, unless there's something we don't know then this is simply Lucescu waving his schlong around to the detriment of the team.

Well the moment many of us feared(especially @pash) has arrived.... Warda was kicked out of training by Lucescu. The report I read stated the Warda made a mistake on the ball and kicked another ball away in frustration, Lucescu confronted him and they started yelling at each other.

It remains to be seen whether this is serious enough for it to be the end of Warda at PAOK (again) or if it will be something resolved inhouse and we move on.

The only reason to confront someone over that is if

a] you wanted to start something to get rid of him; or

b] he kicked the ball at someone

    wtf is going on

Again, I reiterate that the gals should not be the slightest concerned about what people like me think. As long as they are doing what they love and winning, then that is really all that matters.

The lack of pay is completely different topic. At least in professional sports, people are paid most where there is a demand. Compared to men's football there is minimal demand for women's. Most football fans probably couldn't name more than a few female players without looking them up. I myself can recall only Rapinoe (and even then I still don't know her first name). The fact that people are angry about female footballers not receiving the same pay is worrying. It shows a clear lack of understanding and (dare I say it) almost a Socialist view on competitive sports where males and females differ. I never hear anybody complain how female models earn more than their male counterparts, which is based purely on looks and not ability. (After reading your post, I may have jumped the gun and assumed you meant equal pay - please tell me if I misunderstood your comment).

Of course, this is completely different to regular jobs where everyone should indeed be entitled to equal pay.

this is a discussion to be had with a beer and some mezedes. god willing one day we can all catch up in a taverna in toumba before a game and do this. suffice to say it's not about equal pay, it's about fair pay.

Let's be honest dude, we all would rather have the men who at least provide us with around 5 away European away games most seasons.

there is a big difference between "we all would rather" and "it really doesn't mean much". Yes I would rather our men swept aside all before them and became a juggernaut of european football, but I don't discount the efforts and professionalism despite the disrespect shown them and the lack of pay of our women footballers by saying it doesn't mean much.
