  1. That comment about it being the Pontian in him is all too true. It was assumed by most Greeks I met on my recent trip that I was a Pontio because of this miti of mine. I wear it like a Pontian badge of honour.

Its not hard to pick out a Pontian amongst a group of other Greeks. Usually shorter, around 5 foot 9-10, darker complexion, larger nose. Many look a little more Georgian or Iranian than your standard southern Greek.

um, 5'10" is exactly average male height. pretty sure most greeks are below that.

  2. Neither did mooy at Fulham. Just because you had one shot as a kid doesn't mean you should not be able to develop at a different pace to others. I look at botanic's work rate combined with decent speed. Is he going to set the world on fire? No. Is he going to improve your squad? Yes. Is he going to cost a bomb? No. I think this is what you need to ask when recruiting.

I would say that the Swiss league is generally better than the GSL. And while as you say he was not a super star, he played and played regularly. What he does give you is someone who knows how to work a transition. We have zero blokes who can do this. Yeah they can play nice little neat triangles while the defenders have time to light up a ciggie and play some tavli.

Mooy on ability would walk into the starting XI in every GSL team

  3. I'm sitting here watching melbourne city play and there's only one thing running through my head..........

    SIGN AARON MOOY YOU CLAGBAGS

the money wasted on sabo and Olsen we could have signed Mooy and picked up thimas Sorensen for free. Instead they are playing for one of the poorer Australian teams.

There's no bloody energy in our midfield, industry yes, activity or change of pace, no.

While you're at it you could do worse than pick up Ollie botanic as well.

And if any of you say that these guys aren't PAOK quality

  4. You people don't understand the Greek mentality it seems. You seem to be brainwashed by your own western nations that you come from, lapping up everything they say about Greece which in reality is none of their business. They do things in there politically correct way which is heavily corrupted and Greeks do things their own way

    MOD EDITED

Tell us then from which enlightened nation you hail

  5. our problem is not one of technical ability, nor I think one of desire. That's not to say we couldn't improve on either.

the way I saw last nights match our biggest flaw is in our decision making. when we have a couple of options we seem to always inevitably choose the wrong one. and when those passes go astray or we get caught in possession it only makes it look worse.
