  1. The Panionios game is on the 21st, isn't it? So if they give us a ban for two home matches, our fans' last game will be on Sunday? Let me guess at our punishment - 300k EUR, 4 game fan ban, 3 point deduction in the playoffs. PAOK still ends up first.
  2. Fined 32,500 for our game vs Panathinaikos. Now to see what the fine is for the Cup.
  3. I thought that was particularly ironic, as before he moved there I *believe* he had said he didn't want to go to either Olympiakos or PAOK. And then promptly signed for the team that Marinakis was in the process of buying.
  4. The lineup choices seem very straightforward, especially since Shakhov is out. Wouldn't be surprised to see Pelkas start over Henrique, too.
  5. These guys are saying we're interested in Vellios. I can't see that happening, esp since he's an Iraklis boy. I also don't think he offers a solution to your striker needs. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/05/11/nottingham-forest-striker-apostolos-vellios-wanted-by-olympiakos/?utm_medium=share service&utm_campaign=social media&utm_source=twitter&utm_content=HITCdeadlineday
  6. InPAOK had a blurb today about Matos getting lessons in how to avoid the cards over the next games...I laughed out loud at that. 1 - you can't teach an old dog new tricks 2 - if he'll be targeted to get cards, he'll get them regardless of how he plays 2 - if he perceives that he's being targeted, he'll fly even more off the handle Hopefully Kitsiou is up to snuff. I think we'll be fine even with him. I wonder if Toumba will sell out for these games? Or if we'll have crowd troubles...
  7. Limnios trained with the team for the first time today. I'm a little surprised that he is there, but it's a good sign.
  8. We'll probably see an offer for Antonis from his current club. Hopefully we make a few euros off of him. I can't see us wanting to keep him when we have better home grown (and fully integrated) talent already in the club.
  9. We're going to be targeted in all four of those games. Both of those teams are sore, but I see no reason why we shouldn't have convincing wins against both. Two home wins and one away draw should be enough. I can't see us losing either game vs Panionios.
  10. This isn't something that should be celebrated, my greatest wish is that these cowards get some jail time.
  11. Looks like Iraklis is up for sale (again?). Incidentally, someone was telling me the other day that in Greece, foreign ownership is not allowed for clubs. Is this true?
  12. I, for one, loved Bananas' post. Some other thoughts - Ivic was asked what he told Glykos at halftime after he let through that incredible goal. Apparently, he told Glykos that he was the best goalkeeper in Greece. Now this could just be fluff, but it might make his staying with us more likely (unless some foreign team is testing the waters with the club, behind the scenes?). Banana boat, you missed Poungouras, though I"m guessing that's who you meant when you were talking about Chatziisaias? I also think we need a Matos-level left back. Let him and Leovac fight it out. I think Kitsiou has been better than many have given him credit for, but having someone like Matos in the squad makes everyone play second fiddle. Agreed on Campos - not a Mak replacement. Excels at forcing errors in the opposing players, knows how to track back. He's also in probably the best shape of any of our players - it's not just that he runs, but he has a combination of physical strength and agility that Pelkas and Mistakidis should set as a goal. Too many lightweights in the Greek league. I'm looking forward to the return of Konstantinidis, too, but have no idea if that'll work out. Surely we don't need three right backs in a squad. I'm kind of surprised, though, that Matos has not been used on the left at all.
  13. Well deserved.
  14. (which is not to say it wasn't a penalty)
  15. If that penalty had been called, the uproar would have been just as great. We'd see side by side comparisons of Berg tripping over that thick Thessaloniki air (it's much dirtier in the north, you know) all over the place.
  16. So they haven't beaten us at home since the 09-10 season? Not bad. I anticipate our playing a better game than in the cup. My only worry is overconfidence. Hopefully a full Toumba will put the fear of God in them.
  17. When's the last time it started this early? Feels like usually we don't see games until the last few days of August (ignoring the delay we had last season)
  18. During his Fulham days? What was Phil doing around there?
  19. Let them give it a shot. Let every team who has its fans act like animals get a points deduction. Do you think any punishment is heading AEK's way for their fan's conduct? Somehow doubtful...which is kind of the point. I get that Panathinaikos is sour...you guys got annihilated twice in Toumba, and getting that handball penalty ignored in your stadium is way too close a call for anyone to be happy with. It just seems very transparent, however, when every Athenian team (can we call you PanathinAEKos?) sticks together so closely. Why are you guys so angry about our trying to get Olympiakos punished in accordance with the rules, anyway? Wouldn't you be happy to see them drop down a spot, if you loathe them so much?
  20. I was wondering why I couldn't find it on their youtube feed...silly EPO -edit- spelling
  21. Very impressive record, congrats to them!
  22. Short of paying your team's way for them, not sure what Savvidis can do for that, friend
  23. (I believe Iraklis made a payment and they're back in the first division) Panathinaikos will be doing its summer training in northern Greece, because plane tickets are expensive.
  24. Michel has confirmed they're gunning for 3-4 more moves to be made in this summer's window. My guess: The Mak-style speedster that we so clearly are missing A backup for Canas A dedicated, Matos-level LB A goalie People to leave from our the current squad: Brkic, Klaus, Kace People to leave who are on loan: Sabo, Jairo, Korovesis And the rest...loan 'em out again. I really hope we don't lose Charisis, and I think we should keep Koulouris - we only need one Klaus-style striker on the roster, so if Klaus goes then I want him to stay. Honestly, the team Michel has put together over these past two transfer periods is good enough to win the championship. Now it's just a matter of reinforcing what's good and correcting any imbalances that remain.
