I wonder if Ferreira's preference for playing the LB up very high will work to Giannoulis's advantage this season. Does need to improve defensively but man does he look good going forward.
Here's the lineup. I bet this is very close to what we'll be playing in the CL. Most of the options up front are pretty interchangeable. Hopefully Douglas impresses today.
Just to clarify, this isn't the *good* Cluj, right? I think these guys play in the second division?
-edit- wait did the team backtrack on availability? https://tv.paokfc.gr/video/fc-universitatea-cluj-paok-live
I guess the sticking point for Palhinha is Braga and what they'll demand in return. Depending on what we pay Sporting, this is a great opportunity to try to offload Kace with a small additional payment ?
Or hell, maybe even Misic (though Misic is better)
Ferreira wants both a #6 and a #8 (Palhinha would fulfill the need for the former), so it remains to be seen what will happen with Oliveira. It now looks like Porto is *not* getting a new manager so that makes it more likely Oliveira will stay there. Unfortunately we are at the mercy of Porto's squad makeup here. On the plus side, they will need to make their choices sooner rather than later...
Wernbloom should be practicing normally but apparently still feels some pain, which is why we haven't seen him in any friendlies. I haven't heard any updates recently but it seems unlikely he'll be available for the qualifiers now.
Papadopoulos (the GK) and Markovski are also returning to Thessaloniki. No surprises there though.
Wernbloom and Mauricio are also returning instead of traveling to Romania for the next friendly, which they obviously were not going to play in anyway.
