  1. Was the UEFA proscription regarding Greek/Turkish matchups a sure thing? Still not sure who I'd rather out of this list. None of them are bad teams but we should be able to take any of them. Will be hard to make it through this round either way.
  2. If he was offered substantially more than 500k a few months ago, and then rejected it...I can't say I'm too sympathetic. The team has leverage in this case as their cup runneth over with wingers, and as you say he wasn't nearly as good this year. 500k for someone who's torn ligaments in both knees and is on the bad side of 30 means he'll either have to settle for less, or go play in the Middle East for one more pay day. I definitely would not blame him if he did that. Careers are short and you should maximize your earnings while you can. Personally I wouldn't mind 500k for two guaranteed years as I think he'll be a nasty impact sub. But it sounds like PAOK doesn't want to tie into a commitment that will disincentivize the player for the upcoming year. While of course he doesn't want to cut his wages by 2/3. I would not be too surprised if there's some compromise reached, though.
  3. Oooh I forgot about Gspurning! He spoke too many languages for me to remember where he's from haha Mauricio played for a much better team in a much better league but I take your point. This is more of a lateral move for Schwab so perhaps he'll be equally productive? Who knows!
  4. I bet you the resale rate that Arsenal has, makes us less willing to go too low. Anyway, really hope that the Schwab thing works out. I didn't find his highlights to be particularly exciting but if he lives up to his reputation as a solid box-to-box midfielder who can "lead" some people, then I'll take it. Have we ever had an Austrian on our team? I feel blackhawk would know this haha
  5. It seems pretty fair, though playing in 70% of games (even if substitutions count) might be tough. He may choose to chase those petrodollars instead but if this is the club he wanted to retire at, now's his chance.
  6. It's fair considering how he couldn't become a clear #1 ahead of Swiderski. I'll miss him though, he seemed like a good kid. Opens up space now for Ferreira to get someone he really wants (unreliable sources claim we might see quite a few transfers).
  7. Ahh, I see. Yeah they're a no brainer, assuming they stay in Serie A. Lecce is four points behind Genoa and currently playing vs Udinese (0-0, 33 minutes). Genoa is losing against Sassuolo so it could be a 1 or 3-point game after today. Lecce's last game is vs Parma while Genoa is playing Verona, both this Sunday.
  8. Hopefully he wasn't in physical contact with his former teammates in the preceding days as they're apparently full of the rona. Presumably he'd have to get tested before being allowed into Greece, though I doubt it's hard to sneak in anyway. He's expected in Thessaloniki today from what I saw, but haven't seen any updates yet. Don't be surprised if he doesn't show up until this weekend, esp as some sites are saying he was giving Rapid until the 30th to make him an offer.
  9. Good move, I hope he crushes it there.
  10. When's the last time we saw rumors start and end this quick? Wow
  11. Always good to have a pipeline. I'd say try hard to hold him for the next season but I also think that Ferreira will have him riding the bench. If that's the case then he needs to be upfront about that with Rebbe
  12. It sounds like that's what's happening with that Schwab guy. Still two days to go until this alleged deadline. As for Giannoulis: https://inpaok.com/651461/epikentronetai-ston-giannouli-i-napoli/ That would be a big move. It mentions within (https://www.areanapoli.it/calciomercato/napoli-salgono-le-quotazioni-di-giannoulis-la-strategia-di-giuntoli-per-il-terzino-i-dettagli_381788.html) that they'd probably be able to snag him for 8. Hell, for 8 I'd sell him in a heartbeat.
  13. He offered something before the coronavirus break. This entire season has been a lesson in player mismanagement. Saw this just now: https://inpaok.com/651410/sti-lista-tou-paok-o-svab/ Meh. Here's his transfermarkt. https://www.transfermarkt.com/stefan-schwab/profil/spieler/79612 The most-viewed result of his on youtube is the delightfully titled "RED CARD STEFAN SCHWAB | RAPID VIENNA - AJAX | HIGHLIGHTS | WORST TACKLE EVER!!!"
  14. Sounds like Lamprou's gonna get loaned out again. Just sell him ffs. Let the guy have a career somewhere.
  15. Hah so....it's just posturing, it seems. Another good quote from the article:
  16. Can someone explain to me why so many sites are excited about Galinovic? What am I missing??
  17. Maybe this is a stupid question, but....why is a quarantine necessary if people can be tested? I was under the impression that the tests would show results even if you're asymptomatic. If you want to be extra-careful, why not cut the quarantine in half and test a person on days 3 and 7? Also, is Spain increasing in cases again? Hmmmm ME NO LIKE
  18. Sorry, the only youtube video I can bring myself to watch these past two months is Konstantinos Argyros' "Athina Mou." In these trying times, it's the only thing anyone should be watching.
  19. This is true! On the other hand, sometimes we come out chomping at the bit in the summers. I have never seen us change this quickly, but then again, I've never seen such a short summer anyway. The biggest positive is that the team should be in much better shape than usual. If there are players that are causing problems, perhaps they will be identified and removed early as well.
  20. Yeesh. Okay, which of these teams do we WANT?
  21. Good, he should. We will have like four or five keepers coming to preseason. This is just crazy.
  22. Apparently Monaco released a bunch of players and someone on twitter is already linking us to this guy: https://www.transfermarkt.com/moussa-sylla/profil/spieler/460655 I saw someone else claim a different Turkish team was interested in Akpom. Well come on guys make some offers already. -edit- should stress that I've only seen that claim in one place so this looks tenuous even as far as rumors go. I love this time of the year!
  23. Wow, scary stuff. Glad they caught it
  24. So he definitely has cancer? That's terrible.... bviously that wouldn't be related to his original injury though? Unless maybe that's when they discovered it??
