  1. About Krmencik, he thinks his current club may try to loan him but he didn't exactly say they were looking for another loan on our side. Important distinction! I hope they don't back a dump truck full of money onto El Kaddouri's lawn. Guy will be injured for 2/3 of the season anyway.
  2. His bit on Biseswar is pretty epic. He LOOOOVES the guy. About an hour and 30 minutes in
  3. Looks like the start of preseason is being pushed back to the 29th (one week), after all
  4. Misic just signed (permanently, not on another loan) with Dinamo Zagreb. Big win for them, and they got him for only 2mm EUR.
  5. He has arrived. Apparently he'll be in town until Saturday, at which point he returns to Romania to prepare for his big move. Looking forward to tomorrow's press conference
  6. Remind me again why we care so much about Holland as an option? No offense to our tulip-loving moderator, of course
  7. Congrats! How do you feel? I got the J&J one (one day before the hysteria caused them to temporarily suspend it here), and was out of sorts for like four days. Would do it again, though. The pharmacist was also very cute, so that was a bonus.
  8. There is literally no reason to hire Prijovic over Krmencik. When you account for his wages, the higher cost of purchasing Krmencik is offset. Plus...Krmencik's style is much more in line with how Lucescu's wants his guys to play. Remember, Prijovic was kind of an outlier stylistically. Watch Lucescu break the bank to get him back now that I wrote that.
  9. Link to vote for MVP of the season: https://www.paokfc.gr/nea/20210530-box-mvp-of-the-season-poll/
  10. I see at least one fan site claiming they will be. You'd think that Razvan would want as much time as possible, though. Wouldn't be surprised if they keep it as-is.
  11. Was considering getting Disney+ with its ESPN add-on for this - will have to look into whether or not that includes ABC. Haven't had a tv subscription since like 2013 haha
  12. Looks like the IFAB has decided to keep the 5-substitutions option until at least December of 2022. I like it.
  13. Man this place looks legit: https://www.paokfc.gr/nea/20210528-synergasia-paok-onside-gia-tin-proetoimasia/ Das Sieben = The Seven, right? Is that the number of hookers this beautiful complex has on hand at all times?
  14. Not sure he'd even get much time there. There is stiff competition on both wings. But I see they recently have been playing a 3-4-2-1, which Tzolis has shown he can do well in. They should at least have the funds to meet our asking price, though - let them have 'im!
  15. Does anyone in the US know how online streaming of the Euro is going to be handled in the US? I am seeing conflicting information online but it seems ESPN will carry most (but not all) of the games?
  16. Haha reportedly they had targeted Krmencik a long time ago but Bruges got him first!
  17. The question is, who chose the last set of winners? By and large, it was Michel. Not sure I have faith in Lucescu making those choices. Hopefully our better scouts are still with the team at this point and still making good recommendations.
  18. All of that is true. I'm sure all of us have seen the rumors that (several) teams in the Czech Republic were interested in Krmencik, though who knows if they could afford him. Lucescu also doesn't have the connection to him that a casual fan (or obviously Garcia) would. Speaking of which, there's already plenty of buzz that Colak is gonna be bought by his current club but who knows. So many question marks! The thing about players like Varela and Crespo is that I could see it go either way. Lucescu has shown a great deal of unwillingness to accept new blood in the past. But if he detects a decline in those two right now, he could just as easily decide to move on before it becomes an issue. Same goes for any player, really...but I also have a suspicion that we'll see some guys look markedly better in this new system. And a few probably will look worse.
  19. I think Warda's going to get the boot. Razvan probably got his fill of the guy last time, but who knows...maybe he'll keep an open mind. I had forgotten to mention Esiti before - the guy has very little of the technical ability Lucescu values so much. Sad to say, I think we'll get rid of him. Biseswar will get another look this preseason but I honestly think he's on a permanent decline, sadly...
  20. Such disdain for the hobbyist community ?
  21. Can't disagree with you. No question who the better coach is. I just feel the team did Garcia dirty. I do hope we quickly return to Lucescu's style. That was a hell of a fun to watch team
  22. How does that move up work? Villarreal won the EL, but there are a number of associations ahead of Greece. Is it related to the second qualifying round having cup winners from associations 18-33 (of which Greece is #18, so any bump up would result in us moving up)?
  23. Garcia will have no trouble finding a job elsewhere if he wants a top-level job. But the fact of the matter is, he needs those licenses. I would not be surprised if Savvidis' offer was relatively generous (compensation-wise), and he'd have the chance to get a lot more experience by coaching the B team. From what I saw, Savvidis did not give a deadline on the response so it's all about Garcias agent at this point. Regarding needing an undefeated season to win a championship - could be, might not. What exists now, however, is a big gap. You can't call yourself a credible threat when you're 20+ points behind at the end of the year. Lucescu would do well if he can just offer more consistent results in the league while improving our play in Europe. But then again, if he loses the league by like one game...who knows what Savvidis' reaction will be.
  24. You know what's funny? I assumed the complete opposite - that Lucescu is just another example of Savvidis going off half-cocked in an attempt to regain some past glory. It would be in keeping with his history! But your point also stands - he could in this case be objectively looking at his options and going, "this guy would crush this job." If Lucescu does come back, rest assured the technical director we eventually get (be it Korneev or someone else) will be there simply to facilitate his decisions. Lucescu's gonna be given a lot of money to play with, and a lot of leeway on rebuilding his team.
  25. Poor Garcia. I can't believe it. https://inpaok.com/688150/to-ochi-tou-pablo-gkarsia/ https://inpaok.com/688149/epistrefei-o-razvan-loutseskou/ -edit- well okay I CAN believe it, but it's still surprising to me. I guess Savvidis knows they've got a lot of cash coming in, and this is the opportunity to get back to big-spending, big-winning ways... -edit 2- Take the below (and the above) with a grain of salt... https://www.sdna.gr/podosfairo/842607_titloi-teloys-gia-gkarsia-ston-paok-i-syzitisi-kai-i-protasi-toy-iban
