  1. He says all the right things and it was also interesting he said this:

“Στην Ολλανδία η ομοσπονδία είναι εντελώς ανεξάρτητη και ο προπονητής διαλέγει τους καλύτερους. Δεν υπάρχουν πολιτικές ισορροπίες κι αυτό θα κάνω κι εγώ".

He says the Dutch federation is completely independent and the coach picks the best players. There is no political balances and that’s what I’m going to do. (Meaning he will pick the best players.)

What I get from this is he is indirectly saying that the EPO are political and are involved in call ups. Where as in the Netherlands it’s not like that.

    Also says this:

On whether he has discussed with the Development Plan to EPO: “Yes, it is part of our deal. At the moment all our attention is on the men’s team and in the coming months we will start putting the coaches of small national teams in the same climate. We will discuss with the federation these plans and how we will implement them. "

I don’t get what’s part of the deal exactly? But the less EPO has a say in the team the better.

He says all the right things but actions speak louder than words and all that is left is execution.

Koulouris seems to be turning into another Mitroglou for the NT....i.e. useless unless he's scoring goals....hopefully he'll be able to change those habits in France or better yet start scoring by the bucket load. Pavlidis seems to impose himself more making more runs off the ball and generally hustling a lot. Retsos has played a grand total of 31 minutes over the past year so if he can fully recover is anyone's guess....he has  lost his spot at Bayer as a starter and will be hard pressed to get it back. Vrousai I'm not totally sold on...he seems to play second banana to Pavlidis.

Truth: the Schippy will need time to sort out this mess of a team but he said all the right things and pointed out all the flaws in an honest manner....even Angelo deserved more time but was made scapegoat.....hopefully this doesn't happen again and btw the manner that Liechtenstein scored the tying goal should mean that we won't be hearing any more bu11$#it from Sokratis and Manolas again....nobody should ever get a free pass to NT if they're not 100% on board and totally committed....anybody who isn't needs to get dumped off the team.

I agree. Retsos is a smart young player won’t be too long until he gets his starting spot back. Played very well in the Greece u21 loss to Germany. Very versatile players. Played well at CDM/CM. And covered a lot of ground.

  3. I think the team lacks cohesion. We need to find a team and stick to it. I hope with this next restart proper players with talent are called up and players who are going to be needed down the road. Meaning Samaris shouldn’t play. We are lacking creativity and finishing. We need more quality outwide too. These areas need fixing. I don’t know if we have the quality players to help this. Maybe L.Lamprou gets a look. Maybe Galanopoulos too. I’d like to see Lykogiannis again. Koutris should be our starting LB. Vlachodimos should go back in goals. Donis needs to start in this team. Fetfatzidis has to be in this team. Fetfatzidis is one of a few players with quality. Hopefully we start looking at Greek heritage players like Vasiliadis who plays at Paderborn and is the reason why they got promoted.

The highly criticised players from the Lietchenstein match were Samaris for wayward pass and slow with ball at his feet, Bakakis not having the skill at this level even though he does alot of running and Manolas for not spotting the opposing player slip through that gap, and Manolas got outpaced by the faster player to score.

Finally, I hope everyone is Finally over Manolas and his continuous garbage cause he is a name only, a light of other days. I hope Skip plays younger players sooner rather than later.

You are right in a way. Manolas is the most useful player to have on this team. Great at headers, especially in corners. Great defender and has pace. I was really surprised he couldn’t catch the Lichtenstein forward. I expected more. Even Sokratis was trying to catch him. After they scored my heart sunk. I couldn’t believe it also Barkas should’ve done better but he isn’t to blame.

Samaris and Bakakis are not good enough for this team. We have to find replacements. Maybe Tachtsidis needs to come back.

Yes support. That’s all. A supporter as everyone else is. It’s soccer. Not life.

So way the you feel your fine with the way things are... Your not gutted whatsoever... Why do we? Why do comment and complain? This is a part of life... everything’s is apart of life we come here to express our opinions and love for the team and clearly the team is hitting rock bottom. It’s not fine if your passionate in a team and they keep losing. Yes it’s a apart of life but things has to change and us fans have to make our voices heard. I can’t get over this...

  6. It’s actually very sad. We are playing worse I think than the Euro 2016 qualifiers. Or maybe the same. This group don’t work well together and I don’t know why. There is no cohesion. They are like individuals. We can’t be this bad. We so clueless when comes to attacking. And that’s from the midfield to the front. We haven’t got players in the middle to demand the ball.

I don’t know exactly what needs to happen. One or two I’ve come to realise, will not change anything. Fetfatzidis for all the praise I give him and Fortounis for all good things he does is not enough. Manolas and Sokratis is not enough. This whole team needs to be a team. They need to bleed for the shirt and whatever they can for the win. In the game ive seen us get the ball forward and be completely clueless in what to do with it. At least with Donis pace on the wing we have more of a chance of something good to come out of it.

I hope in the future Donis, Vrousai and Pavlidis GSL and we can maybe see an effective and dangerous Greece attack. Fortounis is only 26 he can still contribute. Maybe Tachtsidis needs to be recalled and work with Fortounis. Have either Zeca or Siopis do all the dirty work and heavy lifting in defence. Have Fetfatzidis come in for the attack. That’s if the coach doesn’t want to start him.

I don’t know if that will still work out but any we have do something. We need more passion and grit on this team. Where has the love for the team and country gone?

  7. It’s actually very simple. Play your fastest and most skill full players. Koutris, Donis, Tsimikas, Pelkas, Masouras, Vrousai and Fetfatzidis have speed. We need to utilise there speed and give them instructions to run into space and then create opportunities. Fortounis or Tachtsidis can be the providers and set up goals. You can have Koulouris ( I’m a bit harsh with him as I’m not a big fan) or Pavlidis in the box ready to score.

Kourbelis is not going to solve our problem. Bouchalakis the same. These guys are reserve players for any of the top 10 countries. The only players that you could say could play in any international teams are Manolas and Sokratis. Fortounis and Donis would at best be used as subs. That’s the reality.

We are lucky in a way Manolas and Sokratis are fast. The way Manolas closed down Pukki in the 2nd half I don’t think anyone else would’ve made it.

So now we know Kourbelis and Samaris aren’t cut out for international level. Who should we replace them with? Galanopoulos? We just have to deal with what we got I guess.

You're very harsh and wrong about Koulouris, how can you say you dont think he is reliable with his record at Atromitos and in France's top league? 21 goals in 32 matches - is that no reliable as a striker? That's a 66% strike rate...

At the end of the day goals matter and Koulouris has proven that he can score. In this Greece team its no good just to wait for service, you have to make things yourself and Koulouris can’t go that extra step. Pavlidis can as I’ve seen in Holland. We need to players to work, make runs, tackle etc. I’m questioning his ball skills because I don’t think he can make things happen he is good at getting on the end of the ball like a tap in, header. He is too limited for me. But he is a great poacher.

You could start Mitro and Fortounis with Fetfa and you'd still get the same result....it's the combination of all these players that somehow transforms them into a bunch of losers. I've said before that they have to learn how not to lose first and then think about winning....that requires determination and discipline which as a whole the NT lacks. There are no leaders....when someone tells me Torosides is a leader I laugh....I picture him always bitching and complaining on the field full of drama....that's not a leader. Sokratis is a soldier....not a leader....same goes for Manolas. The closest thing we have to a leader is Zeca simply because of his work rate but he can only lead by example which is not enough.

I remember the game in euro 2012 against Russia when Karagounis carried the team on his shoulders scoring the goal and at one point when Katsouranis was pulling out the theatrics pretending to be injuried and taking his time to get back on the field Karagounis angrily dumped water on Kats' head yelling at him to get up....that's what is lacking on this team....it's not talent or a great coach (that would help for sure) it's a question of character and lack thereof amongst all these players.

I hope Schippy sticks around simply because he doesn't seem afraid to drop out of form players and try youngsters...its a good sign and the only way things are going to change with this group of deadbeats.

I have to agree with everything you said. You are spot on. Our players haven’t got character. Even in the tunnel they looked depressed and too serious. They need to enjoy themselves and play hard for the team. They need to have balls. In regards to Koulouris, I understand the service is terrible I do, but I’m looking at it differently. Like what can offer apart from poaching? That’s what I’m hoping for. He is just another Gekas I think. He isn’t explosive enough. Just like Mitroglou can’t creat something for himself or isn’t good enough to create something for himself. He does try and he does care and I’m willing for him to prove me wrong as he can score but I just don’t think he is reliable 100% and I believe Pavlidis is more useful all round.

Just frustrated in the whole team.

Very true but dont black flag Koulouris, he is a good player, he has been part of the worst Ethniki teams I have ever seen and does not get much service, he CAN help us

I don’t think he can, trust me. I’ve seen him very close, he has to have quality players around him. International level is different. He is not going to get you out of trouble. Technically on the ball he is one of our worst in my opinion. Pavlidis looked more dangerous with the few touches he had. You can tell he is better.

If anything he should be used as an extra striker if need be in the last 15 minutes. I prefer anyone else at ST.

Coach can’t be to blame as he’s barely seen the players.  Pelkas, Kourbelis, kolovos, Bakakis and stafylidis should not be part of the set up ever again.

vrousai showed energy and skill but this team needs fortounis and donis at their top level to help compete. Fetfatzidis should have started or at least come on at half time. The lack of energy and SKILL is unbelievable

You can add Koulouris to that list aswell.

  12. Look he didn’t call up Donis and Mitroglou as they are unfit. We shouldn’t have to rely on these guys all the time and when we do will still don’t get the job done most of the time. Vrousai and Pavlidis looked fine. We can use them in the future. We can work with them. You can’t work with guys like Koulouris, Kourbelis, Bakakis etc.

The whole team is at fault.

Kolovos scores 1 flukey header and now he's a permanent fixture in the squad.

Somehow Tsimikas, who tore it up in UCL qualys, is on the bench in favor of Stafylidis.

Toro, the old man who is barely a bench player at Oly, earns a start.

Vrousai, some Albanian nobody, earns a start.

Vrousai did ok for his debut. We can work with him. Kolovos was bad today as was the team in general. I guess it’s time to scrap the whole team and start fresh.

Agonasport says he will most likely be starting. I can see that happening for his leadership and also to satisfy Sokratis and Manolas.

I don’t know why Sokratis and Manolas are so adamant about having Torosidis in the team. I know they are good friends but Torosidis is not the player he used to be. I also think Sokratis and Manolas can’t handle the dressing room by themselves. They need Torosidis for that as I believe he is a good leader for that and they aren’t. The team seems divided because if this. I hope it’s not the case.
