  1. Vasiliou runs in the 7th heat of the women's 400 m. She has a very slim chance of advancing into the semifinals. She will need to do better than 53.39. Top 2 of each heat plus 4 best time goes through. Baniotis is an enigma. His seasons best is 2.27. 2.28 is the automatic spot. He seems to do well in indoor events, had a couple of 4th place finishes. 50/50 chance for him to qualify. Gousin is having a career indoor season, besting her mark at 1.94. She will need 1.96 to go to the finals. I honestly think she has a long shot. And finally in the men's pole vault both Karalis and Filippidis are favored to qualify for the finals, even though the automatic qualifying mark is 5.80. ? Yikes!
  2. In the field events of the European Athletics Indoor Championship, only 8 athletes qualify for the finals (unless more than 8 athletes get the automatic qualifying standard). Tomorrow, Tentoglou starts off in the men's long jump. 7.95 is the automatic spot. He should make the finals. He is the world leader at 8.23. Skarvelis throws in the men's shot put. 20.90 is the automatic spot. It's a long shot for him, his season's best is 20.11. Dimitriakis running in the 3rd heat in the men's 1500. First two from each heat qualifies along with the 3 best times. He does not stand a chance. He will have to break his personal best to have any chance of making the final cut. Papachristou has a shot, but it's not a guarantee since she is rusty after returning from injury and has not performed any indoor meets this season. She can jump 14.20 to get in automatically, even if she jumps around 14.10, she should be fine.
  3. Do you think Zikos got a shot at the 60 meter finals? He has the top time among all male Greek sprinters and I believe he has the 8th fastest time in Europe.
  4. Pitor Lisek increased his seasons best at 5.93 Emmanuel Karalis can win bronze since that spot is wide open after Renaud Lavillenie and Pitor Lisek Armand Dulpantis isn't competing in Europe, he is competing for his college LSU. The Russian Timor Morgonov isn't competing either.
  5. I don't remember you Welcome to Phantis Forum Majority of PAOK fans are active here
  6. 3 medals sounds reasonable, but as we witnessed in Berlin, 3 other athletes unexpectedly won medals along with the 3 favorable ones. We have a very good group of Greek athletes here. Greece never won 2 gold medals in the same European Athletics Indoor Championships before. I read an article that Glasgow 2019 will host 637 athletes (a new record for this event). This should be an exciting one.
  7. I do like him, it's just that he is a reliable player off the bench
  8. Losing Lazaros Christodoulopoulos hurts, bad timing to tear an ACL.

  10. Maria Belibasaki and Elisavet Pesiridou both will not make the trip due to injuries. Paraskevi Papachrstiou did recover in time and is in better shape. Her 14.25 (indoor) from last season puts her in Glasgow.
  11. Olympiakos rarely perform well against Ukrainian sides.
  12. I was thinking about being a moderator for Greek athletics (track and field). I have been following the sport a lot more since 2016. Since Agona Sport is based in North Carolina, their job opportunity is very limited. If any of you guys want me to take charge of that specific forum, message me. ?
