pax -- you are right it is a wicked sport and some of my favourite sport memories come from it -- Ben Johnson in '88, Kenteris, Patilidou, Canada's 4x100 team, honestly. But of course many of these experiences were tainted. This time around I hope to see the Chinese kid win the hurdles, Wariner win the 400 and the nastiest chick win the shot put :LOL:

Ela pathyia the track and field is no longer a watchable sport. A third of the medal winners will get caught eventually and the other two thirds are lucky they don't get caught. Look at Thanou's motorcycling buddy Kenteris -- yes he is a piece of crap cheater, but he is no different than anyone else he was to run against in Athens. The bronze winner Gatlin has been caught for banned substances and the gold winner Gatlin has had all his training partners and former coaches rung up on charges. Ben Johnson, Linford Christie, Carl Lewis (3 failed tests covered up) Tim Montgomery......... As for Thanou, well she is no worse than Marion Jones, Flo Jo (seriously now), tons of Eastern Europeans and the 100+ US athlete that had failed test results covered up by the USOC.

agreed -- Lecce would be a good fit for him, although if they struggle like Man City did a couple of years ago, hopefully he doesn't go into a shell

the problem that samaras has is that he moved away from Greece at young age and did not have his Yiayia to force feed him, bamyes, fasolyia, kotopoulo, yemista, all the core foods ----- now look at the praying mantis that he has become

Why the hell is he disapointing you? He hasnt played a full game yet. He has 3 goals and hit the post 2 times? and creates spaces and oppurtunities for his teamates. If hes not worth of the NT wtf is Vyntra Goumas Dellas Kapsis etc doing on the team. You've named defenders, Samaras is a striker. The fact is, he's not as good/doesn't offer the threat of Haristea, Lybe, Salpi, Amanatidis, & Gekas in the 4-3-3 with 2 defensive mids and Karagouni running around like a m#$%! ---Samaras DOES have a role -- he creaets from the wing better than anyone else on the team ---look at the Turkey game, and if you watch what he did at Bosnia he dominated---he IS inconsistent but he is more talented and more gifted naturally than any other Greek player AND he has always played hard when he's worn the Ethniki jersey looking decent so far vs Barca Otto has roles for all of Gekas Lybe Amanatidis Charisteas Samaras and Salpigidis all will contribute in Aus/Swit
