  1. It's not two other friendlies. It's only one and it will take place on July 4th, only two days after the team arrives in Holland. It's probably a team of guys who meet before and after the game at some pub for a beer and go out to play a game football.

  2. In November of 2012 Greece beat Ireland 1-0 in a friendly with a relatively young side, at the time i thought the future's bright most of these players play in top leagues and we were flying high in qualifying, how have we slipped so much in such a short time? bad management me thinks. anyway this was the line up that night. Karnezis - Torosidis Papastathopoulos Papadopoulos Stafylidis - Ninis Tachtsidis Tziolis Holebas - Samaras Mitroglou A very good 11, Ninis has regressed and Samaris would replace Tziolis nowadays but at the time i thought we'd be a force for years to come.

  3. I'd be happy to sell him, but only for a decent amount, and with a buy-back clause in case things didn't work out. Considering some of the players out there will ridiculous fees on their heads, Kace would have to be worth at least a few million. The kid is only 21 and has made serious improvements in the last 2 years.

  4. I think it's odd when people say that the government has better things to do than tackle corruption in the super league. Not everyone in the government is involved in debt negotiations, and I think showing the ability to reform in all facets of the country is very important. If Tsipras wants to show that the country can change, for the better, than this is a great way to do it. The question isn't whether or not they should be ignoring this to focus on the debt crisis. The question is (or should be), why aren't they tackling more things? Tax evasion, bureaucracy, profligate spending, nepotism, criminal conspiracies, the drug trade...the country would be better off (and the creditors more pleased) if progress is shown on every front - which is something the previous government apparently failed to do. Which is not to say that Syriza will do any of this. But just sayin'.

  5. That is great news! UEFA will get a lot of pressure to do the right thing. Despite the fact that as an entity, it is just as corrupt as Fifa...

  6. No one is saying corrupt politicians should not be punished... we all applauded Aki and the Thessaloniki Mayoral crew going in for some serious time... the problem I have is that 'Greeks' over simplify the issue.... Politicians stealing 100-200 million is wrong, but this theft has not brought Greece to bankruptcy... there's a false belief that they stole the money therefore I do not get my pension at 47 and now I need to pay more VAT....WRONG Incompetent politicians who did not enforce proper laws, and reform markets 40 years ago, thru fear of upsetting the 'lao' is where it all went wrong... ...the 'lao' demands'...the 'lao ' gets.... what will the drachma and bankruptcy bring us? who will roll back the meaningless 10 year university degrees? there is almost a desire to return to the drachma for the ultimate goal of turning back 'our way of life' to the 1980s....go back to the drachma....run a banana republic and no one will care as we just simply wont matter...after all who really cares that Fyrom has 33% unemployment or that Albania is a s%$#! hole?
