It appears that Nikos Vezyrtzis wants to remain for another six months as the president of the temporary board at PAOK.

It is reported that PAOK is close to get a sponsor for next season. One of the gates at Toumba will also carry the name of the sponsor.

Yes, the GM of Erasitexni PAOK was a big dissapointment. What a joke. In my opinion the Erasitexni PAOK is the cancer of the team, and the first priority of fixing PAOK should be to clean up Erasitexni PAOK.

For PAOK to receive the license to play in the next season's Superleague, they need to take care of debts to ex-players and ex-coaches.

Yesterday they reached agreements with Koutsoupoulos by paying him 10,000 Euro, and with the rest of the 58,000 that is owed to him to be payed on installments until Octber 2008.

PAOK owes Andralas 37,000 Euro, and the gareement with the player is that he will be payed off on installmetns by February 2008.

Pavli Vangelji was paid 8,000 Euro, and his case is close.

There are two other issues left to resolve.

PAOK needs to arrange a payment of 110,000 Euro to Giotis Ekgomitis, and 160,000 Euro to Aggelos Anastasiadis.

The shares situation is quite complicated, and it looks like it is Goumenos, who controls their fate. And he won't go away easily.

Back at the end of 2006, when Goumenos distributed his portion of the shares, he only distributed them to people that he approved first. remember that there were people that were dropped from the list. Apparently part of the deal is that if the shares are to be re-distributed again, everyone who holds shares plus Goumenos have to give their approval. This basically means that Goumenos still controls who is the majority share holder of PAE PAOK. That is also the reason why people such Vezyrtzis and Oikonomidis are realuctant to part with their shares. They are basically doing Goumenos's dirty work. Also don't forget that Pagonis still holds 37.5% of PAE PAOK shares.

Not sure if Apostolidis is to be blamed for the fiasco on Sunday. The whole German pre-season training was arranged when Vezyrtzis was still in charge. I guess someone needed to be held accountable. I always thought Apostolidis did a great job, while he was the team manager. His sacking probably has more to do with the Alexakis interests in buying PAOK.

The government today has passed the law that provides debt relief to various Greek soccer and basketball teams. This concerns debt to the state. It basically writes off 80% of the interest and fines that teams have accumulated against the state. It does not erase any of the debt. Only the interest and the fines.

Now that the law has passed and PAOK was absolved from paying 80% of the fines and interest the remaining debt is more or less as follows:

Around 13,000,000 Euro to the state, which will be paid off for the next 10 years with montly payments of 120,000 Euro. This means that PAE PAOK will have to earmark around 1.5 million Euro in the budget each season just for paying the debt to the state.

PAOK also owes around 10,000,000 Euro to various ex-players, coaches and other third parties.

Many potential buyers of PAOK have stated that for them to get involved, the debt relief law has to pass first. It was also one of the conditions set by Zagorakis in order for him to get involved with running the team.

Let's see now if we see any buyers rushing to acquire PAOK.
