Ziaka Posted November 12, 2003 Share Posted November 12, 2003 It was announced that the Greek Cup Final will take place in Patra at the refurbished Panpeloponnisiako Stadium in honor of the Greek President Kostantinos Stefanopoulos. Just a footnote to the above annoncement: Kostantinos Stefanopoulos is the president that attended all Greek Cup finals while they were played in Athens. However the one time the Greek Cup game was played in Thessaloniki (last year between PAOK and Aris), he declined to attend. :tdown: :tdown: :tdown: I guess it takes a lot more than a soccer game at Thessaloniki to convince the Greek president to cross the "Sinora of Tempi" (tm Antonis Karpetopoulos of Athlitiki Kyriaki). Perhaps the solution is: To wait until the two finalists are known and then pick a neutral stadium as close to the half-way point as possible -- or -- Draw in advance, at random, the next 5 sites for the finals with no repetitions of any one site.
