The Euro 2008 qualifiers have not begun yet nor have the groups been drawn. Are you perhaps thinking of the World Cup 2006 qualifiers for Europe? Just because there will be a joint country hosting the event....Greece will be the casualty? That is no longer the case. The title holders are no longer given an automatic place in the next competition. UEFA changed that rule few years ago.
