Brewster looks for coaching role

Recommended Posts

Veteren striker Craig Brewster is looking at the next stage of his career after holding talks with Inverness about the vacant managerial position.

His current club Dunfermline gave permission for talks to take place as they are aware of his ambition to coach. Inverness have admitted that he is under consideration for either the managers job, or as player-assistant manager.

Others being spoken to are ex-Scotland boss Craig Brown, and Dundee United legends Richard Gough, Maurice Malpas and Paul Hegarty.

Inverness have come back to Dunfermline, asking what compensation would be required to take Brewster north as manager.

Brewster scored a typically well struck goal on Saturday in the last minute of Dunfermline's home win over Kilmarnock. That looks like being his parting gift, as his future seems more likely to be away from East End Park.

In was mentioned last night, that an eventual return to Greece in a coaching capacity is still in his plans - destination Nikaia possibly? The Inverness post could provide valuable experience while allowing him to play a final season in the SPL. He appears to be coasting through games at the moment, and definitely not showing his age (except the grey hair of course - from too many nights in Bournazi!!).

His apparant youth could be down to the fact that he didn't become a full time professional until he was 26.
