Ziaka
Looks like the final costs of the Athens 2004 games are much higher than originally expected. Is anyone suprised? From ESPN: ATHENS BILL TO TOP $9 BILLION The 2004 Athens Olympics could turn out to be the most expensive in history after it was revealed the cost will exceed the latest estimate of more than $9billion. The original cost was set to be around $6billion but extra expenses have drastically increased the final bill, which is expected to be officially presented at the end of the month, reports ESPN.com "The final bill will look very heavy when it is presented," finance minister George Alogoskoufis told Ethnos, a Greek daily newspaper. "The final cost will be far bigger than planned, mainly because of enormous extra expenses." Some of those expenses came from late completion of Olympic venues and increased security.
