Ziaka
Just heard a rumor on Metrosport radio that Poseidon Neon Porron and Pierikos Katerini are close to merging and playing in B' Ethniki under the name Pierikos. Can the Pierikos fans confirm this?
pierikos
Its true! Pierikos and Poseidon are so close to being one team! Its something that nobody expected. The situation is that Pierikos lost promotion twice in a row and things were getting bad here in Katerini. On the other hand Poseidon went so high and everybody was asking themselves what is this the limits of this team, that belongs to 700 villagers and sells 80 tickaets at each game. Details are in the way. The team will have the name Pierikos in it, probably Pierikos 2004, and will play in Katerini. Alot of romantic fans are against it but since Pierikos can not find financial ground to stand on, its probably the only solution. It will make a powerful team, and the aim will be A' division. The Presiden of Poseidon Angelopoulos badly wants this merge. His team is like a baloon. Some time it will explode. Just like Anagennisi Kolindrou did a few years ago. So now is the best time to make a strong team.
Ziaka
I agree that this possible merger will be better for both teams and Greek football in general. It will be nice to see the historic Pierikos aiming to return to A' Ethniki.
pierikos
Its over! Pierikos 2004 is a new team playing in this seasons B' division. The emblem will remain the same and so will the colours. Out of 61 members that voted, 61 voted yes and 0 voted no for the 2 teams to merge!! This team will be aiming very high this season.
