PAOK vs Okkas

I am not sure a Greek football team can bypass the country's federation - EPO - like that!

Probably not. That's why PAOK has instructed EPO to start the legal proceedings with FIFA. However somebody should be asked, how come the player also by-passed EPO, when they went straight to FIFA, when they "broke" their contract with PAOK.

Also PAOK is not too happy with EPO concerning the matter, because when they sent paperwork to FIFA through EPO concerning Okkas back in June, apparently two pages of the PAOK file were "lost" between EPO offices and Zurich.

The Okkas issue really smells. It appears there were many behind the scenes and under the table maneuvers concerning the player. Those probably involved Batatoudis, Olympiakos, EPO (Gagatsis), AEK, melissanidis and Botos, the player's manager.

Finally, not that the issue is coming to a resolution involving FIFA, interested parties are slowly willing to talk. See the latest concerning the issue from Metrosport:

Interesting.

This brings up a few questions though. Number one, why did PAOK wait this long to do anything about it? If this was a sure bet situation for PAOK to win with FIFA, then it seems like they shouldn't have waited this long to do something.

And that raises number two. What sort of compensation would PAOK be looking at?

Why they waited so long? Well at that time Batatoudis had the first word, and PAE PAOK started things rolling when the temporary board took over. You could come up with many conspiracy theories. One being that Batatoudis was doing things behind the scenes in order to unload all the high priced players, including Okkas. I am sure some money changed hands under the table.
