Peristeri 21
Hi guys, can someone tell me how the Australian (and former South Melbourne Hellas) goalkeeper, Michael Petkovic is going in Turkey?
Karamurat
He had a very good year with Trabzonspor last season...at least i think he did. He was also on Fenerbace's list of replacemets for Rustu. I heard that he was leaving Trabzon but then changed his mind.....he is a good keeper! Peristeri 21
I think he is Australia's best at this stage, although some may argue that Mark Schwarzer (Middlesborough) and Zeljko Kalac (Perugia) play in better leagues, but stil, I think that "Petka" is great. Can you keep me updated please karamurat?

Fenerlondra
Petkovic did indeed have a great season last year, however his fate seems to have turned this season. He was blamed for all three goals in Trabzon's 3-3 draw in the opening game of the season and was also on the receiving end of some flak after Pierre Van Hooijdonk's free kick in thier 0-1 loss against Fenerbahce. He has since been replaced by reserve keeper Hasan and Trabzon have won their last two games.... No justice for keepers hey?
Peristeri 21
So two bad games and dropped? Whoah..... no justice at all. Well, that's what playing in a Professional League is like. In Australia, you can have 7-8 bad games and you wont get dropped..... Let's hope he comes back with a vengeance. He is too good for that.
Fenerlondra
Yeah professional football is ruthless like that (especially to keepers) but Turkish clubs are more guilty than most. Patience is something that has almost vanished from the game...
Peristeri 21
Do you guys have the website of Trabzon? I wouldnnt mind checking it out. (Petkovic has some ties to Waverley AEK SC here in Melbourne, he has a few friends there and has come along to a few functions that the club has had)
Kerr
I'm not watching TS very much this season but they've made a miserable start and as far as i've heard they've put the blame on Petkovic! He was amazing last season! What changed now?! To find a good keeper is one of the hardest things at football and look at these clubs, how quickly they ruin their good goalkeepers! Peristeri 21
I was hoping he would get an Australian national team call up, but if he is not getting a game then it would be tough for him to do so. he is quite a talented goal keeper, I think if he has a chance to regain his spot, he can do it!
