RobertCleese77
Okay so I'm trying to understand more about the FIFA league but it's confusing. Can someone kind of break it down for me? Soccer seems like it's different in America than Italy, England, and all that. What's the difference between champions league and premiere league?? pash
(I'm going to assume this is a legit post) Soccer clubs compete in multiple competitions throughout a season. The premier league is the top domestic league of England, while Champions League is an inter-Europe league that is made up mainly of the top clubs from each domestic league, the participation of which is determined by how well teams do the previous year in that league. So this year's champions of France, for example, get to participate in next year's Champions League. Leagues get additional teams in this competition through a coefficient system, which determines each country's rank (separate from FIFA National Team rankings). In the US and Canada, MLS serves as the equivalent of the Premier League, and the CONCACAF Champions League takes the place of the UEFA Champions League. Formats may be different, but the idea is the same.
