Funny Mistake

Recommended Posts

and according to a summary provided by a friend

Short summary;

Ivorian striker Yaya Touré, who played for Beveren (Belgium), signed for Metallurg Donetsk (Ukraine), while his club was thinking they sold him to Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine), the far better team.

In an official press realease, Beveren said they've sold Yaya Touré for 2 million euro to Shakhtar, while they made a phone call to Shakhtar, Shakhtar said they didn't know any "Touré"... Then the discovered they've sold him to Metallurg, a mid-table team from Ukraine.

Yaya Touré hasn't given any comment yet...

So ... if this is true than these things are no longer possible ONLY in Greece! :lol:

Mistakes will happen.

Let's not forget that Juventus should have been playing in the red colours of Nottingham Forest except that the Nottingham locals pointed the Italian officials in the direction of Notts County's offices when asked "where are the offices of the local football club?", nearly a century ago.

sorry to disappoint you guys :P

we in Belgium also had a good laugh about this one, B)

but truth is that the only mistake made has been made by a press official of KSK Beveren. The poor man said the press Toure signed for Donetsk, assuming that it would be Shaktar.

Toure already has said that he perfectly knew that he was going to Metallurg and not Shaktar. He went to Ukraine, talked with club officials, liked the country, city, team and said that he would love to play for this ambitous team. ;)
