An interview while being with Celta. In Spanish!

And of course he played with my beloved Santander and was very good. Especially in one season. Not seen him too many times, but still enough times to say that he is a good player and smart guy  and should be very good addition to us, for Greek standards...kind of Gattuso type but a bit more technical or the best way to describe him is Spanish Palombo....(for those that saw an Italian player called Palombo in Sampdoria)

My article that I updated on wiki :) :

Basic infos

Victor Jose Anino Bermudez, aka Vitolo (born 9 September 1983 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife), is a Spanish footballer, who currently plays for Aris Thessaloniki F.C., as a defensive midfielder.

A product of CD Tenerife's youth system, Vitolo played one match for the first team during 2001-02, as the Canary Islands side returned to the second level one year after being promoted. He prooved himself rapidly for his speed, passion and simplicity in the game. Soon these attributes put him into starting eleven and youth national team of Spain.

Career

Racing Santander

He was transfered to Racing Santander in summer 2003. In December he got basic and irreplaceable at the U-20 of Spain in the World Cup that took place in UAE (2003). Along with Sergio Garcia and Andres Iniesta, they led the team into the final where Spain eventually lost to Brazil (0:1). There is one interesting story which described the way some Spanish commentators used to "yell" underlining that while Vitolo was keeping the centre, Iniesta had whole the room in front of him to play with the ball and threaten the opponents. The game of the little man resembled the one of David Albelda. He is simple and accurate at his movements and placements.

In Racing, he started as a benchman, but soon established himself into the starting line-up. From 2005-07, he was a key midfield element for Racing de Santander, whom finished 10th in 2006-07. His best season is 2006-07, indeed. The team, 7 matches before the end of the season, was chasing the fourth place and the last team who beat Capello's Real in their way to the title. The good course of the team from Santander made Real Madrid propose to coach Miguel Angel Portugal an undertaking of the position of technical coordinator. In summer 2007, Getafe CF showed an interest in buying one defensive midfielder before proposing 3,6 million euros to Racing for Vitolo, which Racing rejected. Then, Vitolo wanted to leave, after also left the coach that "discovered" him. The problems for the young man didn't stop. Moreover, the new coach Marcelino declared that he didn't want to count on the player who wanted to escape. Meanwhile, Getafe already acquired one player and that saga with Getafe-and-summer closed. New interests started to show up in the shape of even bigger teams than the former one. Atletico Madrid, RCD Espanol and RCD Mallorca were watching the situation at Racing carefully. When they heard the price for the player who was supposed to be an alternative solution for the position in their teams, they withdrew. Then Real Murcia and Recreativo Huelva also asked for the player to come on loan, but a deal didn't work out. Racing didn't want to sell the player to strenghten their competition. Eventually he would spend 2007-08 on loan to another Segunda side, Celta de Vigo.

Celta Vigo

The season in Vigo was not that bad individually, however the team wise, he didn't promote to the Primera while Celta were facing some financial problems. The contract of the time had a buy-out clause of 3 millions. One week before, Celta had offered a sum of 1,5 million in order to buy him potentially. Meanwhile, Vitolo agreed on his personal terms with the club. The summer transfer period was about to come to an end and Vitolo was still on the roster of Racing with an uncertain future, regardless of the fact that he individually had had one solid season previously. His contract of anual 400.000 euro wages with Racing was too high for one player out of the team plans. Last team (before Aris) who was interested in him was Tenerife...and somewhere there appeared Aris.

Aris

On August 2008, Vitolo was again loaned, joining Greek League outfit Aris Thessaloniki F.C. until June 30, 2009.

According to some Greek sources right after Vitolo's arrival at Thessaloniki, if Aris are about to buy him out in summer 2009, they would eventually need to pay a sum of 600.000 euros to Racing Club. In the great winter part of the season 2008-09 that Vitolo enjoyed with Aris, apparently Racing were watching the developments of his player increasing their demands, asking at least 1.000.000 euros which Thesaloniki-based club would be able to pay off with difficulty, without further negotiations.

Vitolo imediately adapted and established himself into the Aris line-up (as with all of his previous clubs) under Qique Hernandez as a central/defensive midfielder after just 2 matches from the beginning of the seson (2008-09), becoming an essential and key part of the Aris 08-09 core, showing his high agility and fitness level, gaining central-midfield control, tackling and cutting the opposition attacks superbly, mastering short-passes and distributing the ball to his team-mates.

Private life

He grew up playing football on the beaches of the Canary Islands. His childhood period was difficult, as a member of poor family. The poverty that he experienced at his younger age, sensitized him actually to the yearly organization of at least one exhibition match of the charitable character whos income would go to Tenerife's children who need help.

He is well-organized and careful about his (healthy) diet, muscled, maintaining his great physical shape and readiness for duties of his professional job.
