PAOK is also in planning stages for friendly games once they return from the main training base in Germany. PAOK has received several offers for friendly games, and they will decide on 4 or five games. Teams that have approached PAOK are Parma, Zaragoza among others.

Grigoris Karvelis was named as new Goal keeping coach to replace Mihopoulo. Never heard of him.

Also Fustini came to the PAOK office and said that the $120k PAOK claims to have paid him was not received by him. Something shonky going on there.

PAOK is trying to schedule another game on the 19th of August after the game with Parma was cancelled. They are talking to Cagliari, Sampdoria and Udinese.

The pre-season games in Germany are not 100% set yet as well. The game with Trabzonspor was cancelled. The game schedule will be revamped.

Latest reports are that instead of Trabzonspor we will play Bursaspor and instead paderborn we will play St. Pauli.

Also it looks like that instead of Parma on August 19th we will play US Cagliari.

Hello ZOOM and welcome to the forums. Are you a PAOK fan?

As for the pre-season games, they are ok. Nothing special, but don't forget that these games are used by the coach to fine tune the team for the next season. Playing the weaker teams in Germany is probably suitable for that purpose.

However I wish they played better teams in August at Toumba. Right now we have a game with Livorno and possibly the last game before the start of the season against Cagliari. I wish we played teams with bigger name, so we could fill Toumba.

Well, when Zagorakis took over he made an announcement that he would step down on July 18th if the government did not pass the law on debt relief for proffesional teams in Greece.

This law has not been passed by the government yet, but apparently zagorakis got assurances from the Sports minister that it will pass by the end of this month. I guess this was enough for Zagorakis not to proceed with his threat.

Looks like the game schedule while in Germany has been changed again. On July 24th we were supposed to play trabzonspor, which was later changed to Bursaspor. It appears now we will not play either of those Turkish teams. We will either play a lower German division team Oldenburg, or if things get worked out we will play Werder Bremmen.

Here is the schedule of games while in Germany:

22-July-07: PAOK - Eintrach Braunschweig (German B' Divisioin) - 15:00 GR

24-July-07: PAOK - Oldenburg or Werder Bremmen

28-July-07: PAOK - DSC Arminia Bielefeld (Bundesliga) - 16:30 GR

29-July-07: PAOK - FC St. Pauli (German B' Division) - 16:30 GR

03-Aug-07: PAOK - Petershuette (German D' Division)
