btw we won the double with konstantinou in 2005, and you can't compare sapli with konstantinou because their game is totally different. we need a strong offensive player, but in the past two years management got rid of konstantinou and gekas for no reason.

To add to the comment about the fans; how do you expect the fans to go and spend 40-80 euros to watch a low-budget team like panathinaikos. Whether management likes it or not, big names attract fans, and I bet we would have more luck with Salva had we offered more.

a fan is a fan... even in hard times. this just shows the mentality of greek football fans and why we will never grow as a power in europe. explain to me why there are 28000 fans at nottingham forrest who play in the 3rd division in england, and pao, a young team that has played some decent soccer in recent weeks, cant draw more then 11 k for a CUP semi final game.

and not all tickets are 40 euro. im sure there are some available for less then that. why not go watch the team if only for ninis. a chance to watch a 16 year old kid WARM up is worth that money. support ur team no matter what.

as for salva, the only way he would come to greece is if he would not get any offers from spain. he did so he didnt show up.

it really pisses me off that the fans think they OWN the team. they used to make fun of gekas, and now they miss him cuz he scores goals in germany. they used to have argile songs about epalle and what do you know, there he is in germany as well. as bad a judge of talent tzigger may be, he does not compare to the horrific judge of talent that greek fans are.

SUPPORT YOUR TEAM. IN GOOD TIMES AND IN BAD.

the tickets today cost between 10 and 45 Euro.

I agree with Nikosvazela about the fans. They will not go to one of the best stadiums in the world to watch a semifinal cup game in good weather even though Pao has played very nicely lately. Also, they began whistling and booing almost as soon as the second half began. The only thing Leoforos will do is to look full with so few fans. Check our attendance average when we won the double to see a horrid picture.

As for big name players, who would want to come to play in these conditions? Empty stadiums, teams that play 11 behind the ball, fields fit for livestock, referees who don't know their whistle from their elbow, amateur mangers, dangerous doctors, coaches that don't even have a high school diploma, fans who threaten their own players with violence. Don't say Rivaldo, because in any other euro league he would be warming the bench.

And one more thing: Everyone is complaining why management has let go of some "good" players. While how many of them were really good is debatable, many conveniently forget how the "fans" were treating the likes of Basinas, Gekas (everyone loves him now, but search last year's messages here to see the real picture).

As you can see when Pao does not play well, I am in a bad mood

Added: Ninis should be a better reason than big names to go support the team. When your city team supports your own youth, your own children, then they deserve a bit more support.

what good weather? its 7 degrees and cloudy.....

nobody was expecting a cracker of a game in this and it is a wednesday and its on public tv.....maybe nice just to relax and watch it at home rather than waste your time and if you want worthy seats you pay more than 10 euros anyways....

0-0 cause we dont score easy but it is also very difficult for a team to score against us, best defence in championship and worst offence

sas eixa pei to skor, ante elate na tin fate kai mesa stin xanthi

TRELA POULAME KAI STON VOLO THA PAME

OK, this is not a disaster. We've shown that we can play good football in xanthi. The good thing is that somebody will have to score, so Xanthi won't have to play for another tie. (I doubt they'd want to go to the penalty shots). So, hopefully, after beating gavroi PAO will go to Xanthi with a ..tsabouka! (as they say in the old country).

As for the fans, well, no one expected this to be a great game. The weather was bad, (OK not warm), it's a Wed, and I can see why people may not want to spend $$ to go. Frankly, I don't think PAO should need more fans in the stadium to win over a team like this (close to relegation zone and lots of internal problems).

Hey, everything is relative, so is cold.

I have seen girls in Fairbanks, ALASKA, wear mini skirts in below freezing temps.

Anything above 0 Fahrenheit is considered warm up there...

People in HAWAII and FLORIDA wear sweaters at 70F (21C) :o

In Athens, Greece, less than 15 C is cold ;)

im also mad because every interview he said things against pao..

Can you blame him?

He was forced to go to PAOK, or be released permanently...

Same treatment as pretty much every sold out PAO player.

The list is too long.

Antonis, Mihalakis, Sotiris, Giourkas, Aggelos, Panagiotis.

None of the above have been equally replaced yet...

Ninis is next?

PEACE

2004 not 2005.

In 2005 Malesani managed to lose the title with home ties vs Aris and AEK

Gekas missed a penalty vs Aris, in his effort to become the top league scorer. Basinas was the P.K. specialist...

PEACE

re manges i swear i'm going to have A stroke this year from PAO.

I thought tickets were cheaper than 40 euros, my ticket was 10 euros and i'm sure the fan clubs get cheaper tickets and they are usually the ones we see at the games.....but i do agree the stadium should be 30k + for a cup semi also wtf no chants I was at the PAO PAOK game and was almost deafend by gate 13 fans chanting. Anyway we should advance if we dont i think my blood will go greener for next year. BUT we should never give up we may win the title osfp could have a brain melt and forget haow to play football and that WILL start this weekend when PAO win 1-3

PAO OLE S'AGAPW
