    Ok. The verdict of the PAO - OSFP game:

    94,500 euro fine for PAO;

    2 games behind closed doors for PAO;

    a 3 point deduction of the table for PAO in this season;

    the game must be restarted at the point it was abandoned (around 70’ and OSFP leading 0-1).

    Question 1: Does this verdict make sense compared to others verdicts?

    Question 2: Will ref Fritz be there again for only 20 minutes?

    Ah perfect timing.. Thanks!

    Seems ridiculous considering the claims of weapons/knives, people being attached etc.

    Yet we all know what happened last year after paper gate etc.

    Playing the devil's advocate are we....Canada doesn't need Greece....it's Greece that needs foreign investment.

    Anyway it doesn't matter what the anti globalization freak Tsipras wants....the EU is taking over the matter,   there's trade deals in place so Tsipras and his communist cronies will not succeed.   The company hasn't gone anywhere,  and will mine it dry.

    Correct me if i am wrong but am i right that the local population is against the project and am i also right that previous mines around the north have also caused health issues to the populous living there?

    I just actually read that the company was not agreeing to comply with Greek environmental regulations. I guess money over morals is what you are in favour of? They want to redirect the water system, as well as destroy huge amounts of ancient forest and use techniques that would involve harmful chemicals (cyanide etc) being used and polluting the local area and further afield. Also the building of a hazardous waste dam on an active seismic fault line.. sounds great.

    Good riddance, I say.

    Anywaaaay......Back to the football before this gets moved to a sub-forum. Has there been an outcome on the punishment or who was at fault and what really went on?

  3. He is young in a footballing sense.. OK hes not 20 but he could still play for another 10 years easily. You can't teach natural pace or an engine/work rate like his but you can work on your touch, shooting and decision making. Regardless, i think his only really issue this season is sometimes tying to do to much.

    Klaus i feel is different, i think the pressure of being the main goalscorer and captain was too much for him and as chance after chance was missed and the goals dried up, that was him done mentally sadly. I would have still liked to have seen him stay though. He only had one poor season for us and this was down to pressure and confidence IMO.

    Losing Pelkas would be a big mistake IMO. He is a future club captain (already been captain 5/6 times this season) and I also think that because he was so good last season that this season he is being unfairly judged.

    I don't care.   I'm just writing what I have read about the Asian.   The Asian didn't get what he wanted from Tsipras....that BTW had nothing to do with PAO.   From what I understand it had to do with resort investments  in southern Greece. That said,  foreign investors are still waiting for the Athens alive project in which Dimitri is involved.

    Now getting back to what you said....Alafouzo sinking the team to the lower divisions is weird?    How much money did AEK right off 90 million?    What about ARIS....I'm hearing 30 million.   So what part of that is weird?  And I'm not asking for anything....don't really care how bad it's in Greece....they simply deserve all of it.    Just to give you a example of how it works over there....the Canadian government together with a investment com   The company has already taken to the supreme courts in Greece and won....but the Tsipras government overruled it.   Anyway it's a 2 billion dollar suit.   You havpany in Canada,   will be suing Greece soon....they already started the process.  This has to do with agreements signed 5 years ago in gold mining up in Thessaloniki.e a lot to learn about Greece my friend.   It's all a s%$#! show.

    So because the Asians dint get free reign or favorable deals on a holiday resort, they pulled out of the PAO deal? It just shows you they don't care about your once great club and so were only using it as a bargaining chip.

    I still don't understand how being relegated means you are debt free? your going to have to explain that one to me. Are you talking about taking the club into administration and then getting relegated by the authorities as punishment?

    This isnt the place for discussing non football related issues but since you brought it up here's my 2 cents worth on that situation..

    Good riddance to the gold mining company from Canada, they probably tried to take advantage of the situation in Greece and exploited this to gain Greek resources. My understanding from reading about it a year or two ago was that the local population of the area that would have been affected were against the mining and for once, government listened  but I'm willing to be corrected on this subject.

    Lucky its not a company form the US or Greece would be needing liberated and given democracy via a proxy war.. isn't that how it works regarding natural resources belonging to other countries when it comes to governments in the great continent of North America?

  5. Government incentives? Like what, tax breaks for Alafouzo ?

    Panathianikos racked up huge tax debts and now the owner is trying to avoid paying this tax bill and blaming everyone else for it? He trying to sell the club for more than anyone is willing to pay and according to you, is trying to get the club relegated for some weird reason?

    I don't quite understand what the government is doing wrong here or why you feel aggrieved... Or am i missing something?

    Can you also clarify what incentives you would like to see?

    A couple of possible scenarios....walk away,   or after getting relegated dropping the team to division 3.

    Why would he want the team relegated or the club in division 3? If it was to clear the debt, i thought you had been bought by some rich consortium from Asia? i never realised that he was still in control of the club?

    I'm not arguing with you, i just don't understand the situation.

  7. Jaba has just posted the below on Facebook

    "Just a few remaining matches. I'll miss it. I will be always grateful to PAOK"

    Looking at the glass half full you could surmise that hes just saying he's grateful to PAOK for bringing him here and that he will miss this season once finished or that when he eventually leaves he will miss being a PAOK player.

    The more likely alternative is that he's away at the end of the season and that's that ?

  8. Looks like a carbon copy of the Juve Stadium.i would like the ‘new Gate 4’ behind the goal and corners to be very slightly curved and a single tier, rather than flat and two all the way round. Similar to spurs new stadium.

    A roof and steep terracing though and the noise will be phenomenal.

  9. PAOK have been supporting the Down Syndrome Association of Greece for a while now and I was of the belief that the 3rd strip was to do with this link. The profits go to the DSAG and turquoise is the colour that the Down syndrome association use.

    I'm sure i read that a couple of years ago but if I am talking rubbish then someone please correct me.

  10. It was the pass as crespo hits it into the ground so it bounces and bobbles up. Although the should have still slotted it.

    @Athens4 Think it was crespo as I’m certain he was wearing the cpts arm band.

    Also oliveiras miss at the end as poor.

    Anyway , a fantastic win and 1 more final out of the way. The PAOK championship train continues. 10 points..  “Mind the Gap”

  11. Away goals only count in ties over two legs

    I am assuming @Athens4 suggested single tie rounds with teams being pulled out of a hat and the first team drawn gets home advantage? A draw should equal a return fixture or just extra time and penalties on the night. Away goals would/should not count in those scenarios.

  12. I know we are a long long long way off this yet so bare with me as I'm not being arrogant here..

    When is the league trophy handed over to a team in the super league? Is it the game in which they win the league or is it the last home game of the season (unless the league has not been won by that point and so it would obviously be handed over away from home)

  13. So I just read the “punishment” and UEFA have banned AEK from the next European competition they will qualify for in the next two seasons.

    So if they qualify in the the next two years the will receive a ban but if they qualify after 3 years then the ban has expired and will not apply.

     They should qualify for next season but that place will go to the next team down? That’s what I understand anyway.

    You can rejoice yes.   And I have nothing bad to say about PAOK....I wish them all the best in Europe starting this summer.  However it's not me who has the problem,   it's some of your buddies on here.   They wish for the demise of the big clubs.   Just relax enjoy and hope for a stronger league in the future.   Hoping to become the next gavros in a poor league will not happen.   Example of that,  the gavros themselves.   It was a matter of time before the league dragged them down to a lower level.   If you're hoping to become big....you need a strong league.    That's all I'm saying.

    Cool. But who do you think geeece is? This isn’t the days of Alexander the Great... Greece will never be a footballing power house like Germany or Spain.

    Just take a chill pill and accept that PAO are weak and nobodies on a European level. But hey, blame paok, atromitos and xanthi.. at least you have basketball though,  right? ? hahaha
