kapino / gianniotis / choutetsiotis koutris / milic retsos* / botia / nikolaou elabdellaoui / figeuiras vukovic / romao / cisse gillet / tachtsidis / zdjelar* ofoe / defour / siopis fortounis / androutsos* marin / seba carcela / ben / pardo emenike burdisso is going to replace retsos after the rijeka games once the young player signs for leverkuzen. also eindrecht frankfurt are interested in androutsos and zdjelar is close ro crvena zvezda on a loan deal. defour and djurdjevic will join after the rjieka games, defour will be a gift in case olympiakos progresses to the group stage. also ansarifard will move in a team where he will be the first option in order to be in iran's roster for the world cup. rumours say marteen stekelenburg from everton has been offered to olympiakos and i wouldn't be surprised if he'd sign. romao will play at cb since cisse is inexperienced and the midfield is stacked. ben will move to the wings. in general that's a great roster and god first if we get past the croatian side it might get even stronger with the money that will be generated from the market pool. can potentially finish 2nd in the group stage but even in the scenario they do finish 3rd or even worse they lose to rijeka, they have a decent chance to reach europa league quarterfinals. last year leali ruined that and the roster was far, far worse compared to this one.

whatever you say, i'm sure NONE in this forum would like to see players in b divisions like diamantakos, gianniotas, vellios and bouchalakis starting for the nt. in fact they're THAT good that they couldn't cut in the almight greek league: gianniotas never played for olympiakos, vellios was good for a relegation iraklis side, bouchalakis and diamantakos were consistently warming the bench in olympiakos..if they are that good why they couldn't crack into olympiakos rotation which in a league 15 times worse than championship. ps. the argument with the salaries barely makes sense..
-
Maniatis and especially Bouchalakis shouldn't be mentioned when it comes to nt. One is playing for a mid-table side in Turkey and the other one in english b division..Would rather see Kourmpelis or Siopis if one of Samaris, Tachtsidis or Zeca are out. Also Sokratis is suspended which means we'll see one of Retsos or Papadopoulos playing along with Manolas. My guess as I have said previously.
-
Retsos will play for Olympiakos in the games against Rijeka for the champions league and then he will be gone, numerous journalists in both Greece and Germany reported that Olympiakos reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkuzen for 15 million euros and 20% of the money of the next sale.

Alexandros Katranis moves from Atromitos FC to Saint-Ettiene, in France.

looking up the depth of the team, in my opinion we have a good shot at qualifying via playoffs if we make it there and avoid italy or spain, always assuming that france and portugal will top their groups. may i list them below: gks: karnezis, kapino, gianniotis, glykos dfs: sokratis, manolas, siovas, papadopoulos, stafylidis, torosidis, oikonomou, retsos, tzavellas, lykogiannis, koutroubis mfs: samaris, tachtsidis, fortounis, siopis, kourmpelis, mantalos, tziolis, zeca, maniatis, petsos, kolovos fws: mitroglou, karelis, vellios, donis, gianniotas, mpakasetas, christodoulopoulos, fetfatzidis, pelkas keep in mind this is a 35-man squad so as it obvious, the coach will have to cut down 12 of them. so you can exclude the 10 who you think are the most mediocre and have no place in the ethniki and you have a good side, capable of qualifying to russia.

about the playoffs, for us to be seeded or to have at least a favorable draw group 1: france 1st, sweden 2nd. most possible scenario to happen. group 2: portugal 1st, switzerland 2nd. same here group 3: germany 1st, nothern ireland 2nd. most possible to happen too. group 4: ireland 1st, serbia 2nd. ireland are hosting the serbs and the moldovans while travelling to georgia and wales. serbia are hosting moldova and georgia while playing away to austria and ireland. so the ireland-serbia result will be desicive. quite possible too. group 5: poland 1st, montenegro 2nd. realistic scenario and likely to happen group 6: england 1st, slovenia 2nd. quite realistic to happen. group 7: spain 1st, italy 2nd. nothing you can do here. group 9: croatia 1st, ukraine 2nd. the most impossible to happen since ukraine needs to beat croatia and turkey at home and iceland away at the same time. in the end iceland will clinch the 2nd spot so. seeded: italy, switzerland, iceland, sweden unseeded : greece, slovenia, nothern ireland, serbia. montenegro worst second placed team. aaand let's make a prediction about the draw too italy v nothern ireland switzerland v serbia iceland v slovenia sweden v greece

Karnezis Torosidis, Manolas, Papadopoulos, Stafylidis Samaris, Tachtsidis/Zeca Mantalos Fortounis Donis Mitroglou The Estonian team will have 2 of their starters suspended. Yesterday they beat a very, very bad Latvian side (Andorra and Faroe Islands are ahead of them in their group, actually they are in the last place) 1-2 in a friendly game. Prediction: 2 or 3-0 victory for Greece

In fact fifa awarded a 3-0 win for serbia because of the drone incident. Cas punished serbia, not fifa neither uefa. they will play 1-2 games behind closed doors and pay a fine. Don't know if that will turn to our favor as if we beat belgium we'd need them not to win in bosnia. But beating belgium is out of reach so we'd better hope theythey'll beat bosnia too (they would do that nevertheless).

Kolovos is a CM if I'm not mistaken. He is long term injured currently. Michael Skibbe was planning to call him on the squad for the Belgium game but he got injured few days later. Kourbelis is his replacement at the moment.
-
We have a big opportunity in front of us, i don't think we will blow it away. The players are aware of this and they are not reckless to drop points. 2-0 for us and a 3 point lead from Bosnia as they will be drawing Cyprus in Nicosia at the same time. 3 days later we wii be hosting Belgium again at home a win there would shut down the Bosnians once and for all.

So Bosnian fans in social media are proud of their people acting like that. Exactly what I am talking about. Too much crybabyness in this thread after a Serb raised a banner in the first game for which the FA, the politicians and the players apologized on public. And now you have 10K fans booing your national anthem, the so called hardcore ultras AND the police attacking some 70 year old Greek pensioneers and most importantly the same people who were bitching about the banner, praising these bastards Dzeko and their assistant coach for hitting the opponent players in the pitch!! It's also funny that Bosnian coach asked from Bosnians to resist on Greek provocautions (here we laugh) and then the Bosnian FA claimimg that our players provoked.Way too much hypocrisy, you'll be treated nicely in Cyprus. Btw, is it my ieda or one of the best MFs in the earth was erased from the field by two average superleague level players? Same about the overhyped Dzeko who created only one solid opportunity in 95 minutes of play. Further proves my point about them underachieving in international level. Also liked that Bosnia would dominate Greece in Zenica according to some individual who also claims that Greece plays like San Marino. What happened, you can't shut down a side similar to San Marino?
