Gibraltar - Cyprus (9 June 2017, Estadio Algarve, Faro)
Boxou replied to Omonoia9's topic in Cypriot National Teams
Cyprus could get a point from Bosnia in the next game. They conceded two late goals by defensive errors in the first game. They are capable of achieving this. -
Obviously the action wasn't intentionally so there's no penalty. Rizzoli ain't any crap who will s%$#! his pants and favor the home side the all game long. In fact in that play after Dzeko flopping for like the 4th time he should have stopped the game immediately and book him with a yellow. Pathetic for him and Ibisevic to dive like that in the penalty area as well as the others complaining about non existent handballs in the box.

Look I just posted what it needs to be done for us to qualify. But in all honesty couldn't take down the Greek defence in two games, it's almost impossible to do that against Belgium whilst they won't concede any goal with this week defense. I think we'll be second but as I said yesterday beating Belgium might be vital for our FIFA rankings and determine if we'll be seeded or unseeded. After all it's likely for Bosnia to drop points away against Cyprus and Estonia apart from Belgium.

First spot is not lost yet. Assuming we win the rest of our games (Estonia, Belgium and Gibraltar at home and away vs Cyprus) and Belgium losses or draws away against BiH then we're first. Keep in mind in case we beat Belgium in September then that's gonna be the last Bosnian opportunity for the second place. They will be motivated and will not blow the game away. *Hazard will miss the game against us.

No, winning Belgium is essential for 2 reasons. 1) We have the second place guaranteed. In any other case we don't want a Bosnian victory against Belgium because they will finish 2nd. All in all if the Belgians lose to both Greece and Bosnia ( even a draw could be enough for that matter) we're first. 2) Belgium is a top-10 side in Fifa rankings so a win would bring us quite a few points, possibly enough in order fo be a seeded team in the playoffs. After drawing them in Brussels we moved like 10-12 places above. I'm awaiting to see if the Bosnian fans are going to criticize the disgraceful actions that took place after the game where the fans were throwing stuff to the field but more importantly the players and the coaching staff hitting the Greek players. Because for what I remember the Greek FA, people and even the politicians apologized on public for that shameful banner a Serbian individual raised in the game. Now the same people (Dzeko, Bazdarevic) who were claiming about lack of respect from the Greek team in the first game are basically attacking other people after the game.. Tricky game against Estonia now. Sokratis won't play but well have Samaris and Papadopoulos back. They didn't abuse themselves against Belgium today even if they played with 10 men for a whole half. A must win game.

Let me add that beofre Tachtsidis was sent off, Greece was the better side in the second half and also had the momentum going. Skibbe had put Fortounis and Mitroglou putting pressure to their CBs and they lacked cohesion in the field, midfield and offece were totally disconnected. But then Fortounis had to be subbed off for a midfielder in order to replace Tachtsidis and as a result we didn't put any pressure to them. We had to play with 10 men in our own end which was the only way to avoid the defeat/draw. So claiming that Greece played in the whole game with 10 men in the box is completely wrong and shows that someone didn't want the game at all. Belgium dominated the game in the first 15 minutes and the last 30 against 10 Greeks. And it was then where the Belgians created most of their chances, before that they barely reached the penalty area.

Didn't he make these commnets I'm stating above though? And what's the actual reason to do so? Regarding the bet, it's a win-win situation and I know a lot of people doing that too in crucial games. You either lose your money but you get personal satisfaction or you win more money but you're depressed from the game's result.

First of all I'd like to advice you, since you're in a Greek forum, to type "Greece" and not "greece". You've done it a few times and I have not replied. As far as you write "Bosnia", "Belgium" and "greece", continuously, this is an act of disrespect and inferiority complex. Thanks is advance. As far as the 'Greece plays like San Marino argument': You're just embarrassing yourself. As far as that playing style is effective I'd take that on any given day if it would guarantee me a crucial point which might proved to be decisive for the qualification. And let your Bosnia trying to match Belgium's level by trying to play 'attacking' and 'attractive' football and failing to progress to a major tournament, qualification in qualifciation out. Whatever floats your boat..

I believe Zeca will start as he's more of a physical player and a better defender. Playing Siopis would be risky Imo even if him and Retsos are far better players than Maniatis and Zeca. Starting Lykogiannis as a LB and putting Stafylidis up front would make sense too, after all that's how we've been playing when Tzavellas is around and it worked so far. (4W-2D in the last 6). So Karnezis or Kapino Torosidis-Manolas-Sokratis-Lykogiannis or Stafylidis Maniatis-Zeca or Siopis Mantalos-Fortounis-Gianniotas or Donis or Stafylidis Mitroglou Win this and then it's up to us to play at least in the playoffs. Btw Belgium had a narrow win (2-1) in a friendly in Brussels against a below average in the qualifiers Czech Republic side.

Apples and oranges. You say he's one of the best and I say he hasn't proved it in international level. And surely one can't compare the teammates he had/has with the ones that Aubameyang is supposed to play with. Really now. I'm talking about the fact that he has underperformed in international level and you come up suggesting me to rewatch the first half of the final game? If this is not flawed logic then what? I didn't doubt his skills or his quality for the love of god. Regarding the other comment, I don't think the fact Messi (and other Barca players) wasn't selected in UCL 2016-2017 means he's not one of the best ATM

Expected Imo and I'm sure Skibbe never thought he would miss the game. Anyway little importance it has right now as his status was questionable only the past 2 days. By the way if he's one of the best midfielders in earth you think he would have achieved something more than just a single qualification to the world cup with his national team.
