  1. Would be interesting to see the backline going into the qualifiers, as for now his latest call ups have been;

Lambropoulos who's a bench warmer in Bundesliga B side Bochum

Michailidis who has been dropped in the rotation at Paok and definitely isn't ready yet as it's been evident for his game against Austria

Tzavellas who's not a real CB and one of the biggest troublemakers I remember in the recent years.

    Svarnas; no comment.

Bakakis also looks like an ex player and Rota/Mavrias are playing for quite average sides as Fortuna Sittard and Omonoia. Would rather play Limnios as a full back there.

  2. Well either way Greece's chances to make the world cup are very slim since they are a pot 3 team, which will probably lead to an elimination and we'll go back to the Slovenia game which had we won we'd get a second chance.

Conclusion is that with the new Epo coming around in January the guy on the bench will be gone by the end of the campaign.

  3. Fortounis had played like 6-7 games in about 3 weeks, give him a rest. He was still good and probably would have recorded an assist hadn't El Arabi played his worst game with an Oly jersey. A thing that I might agree is that Olympiacos had some free kicks which were badly taken by him.

I will repeat myself, Galanopoulos so far hasn't proved himself in a very average Aek side which has been humiliated in the Europa league campaign by the likes of Zorya and Braga. Let me take Bouchalakis who's a great player either but starts for a far better team that Olympiacos is. Galanopoulos wouldn't even be a starter at Oly.

About Bakasetas im just tired to say the same things all over again and you know it.

  4. Their coach will be probably sacked sooner than later, they already embarrased themselves in the europa league, missed the cl, knocked out of league cup and are 10 points behind rangers in the local league.

basically he should already have left when he dropped barkas but his replacement was still conceding like 2-3 goals per game and that simply indicates it's not the keeper who's at fault but defense and mainly the coach.

hard to believe they will do any better if they find a new keeper in january unless they are delusional which seems they are if they still keep the same manager.

Was going through the sports channels and noticed that Barkas was playing for Celtic against Milan.  The commentators couldn't stop criticizing him, blaming him for goals.  Turned game off.

Having him being the scapegoat for a Celtic team that has conceded like 30 goals this season so far is pretty awful and unfair. They can't defend s%$#! and blaming in on the keeper.

Is it official now? I dont understand why the thread was made today.

Guy is as good as Bakakis is defensively. Mediocre to bad, but his offensive duties are like the ones of our wingers.

Huge addition in the defence. Hoping to see Manolas Siovas and why not Sokratis back in the team too, or at least some of em.

We got Svarnas/Tzavellas/Michailidis/Lambropoulos instead of them.

he ain't good defensively. plays in a team that goes for 3-5-2 / 3-4-3.

Honestly I would kill to see a backline of 5 with Tsimikas and Giannoulis both on the Left Wing and Baldock Limnios on the Right.

i'd take him at a heartbeat even if he worse than Fortounis in defending. we've seen defensive master Bakakis who can't hasn't hit a cross since 2017.

Really? I can't say I've ever seen anyone on these forums state he wouldn't be a welcome addition. Maybe one or two but for the majority went him to get his citizenship.

    I

i think the debate was on the suggested call ups thread, i stated plenty of times that since we got no RB at a decent level, he would be a huge addition to us and all i was getting in response is that he ain't better than Bakakis and that he ain't "pure Greek" therefore he shouldn't play for the Nt.

  9. Zeca is possibly the oldest player of the squad at the momet. He's only good when it comes to destroying opposition's attacks.

Samaris' passing and shooting abilities are far superior to any other midfielder of this squad (not including Fortounis). Would definitely call him up, we don't have much better options to choose.

Having Kourmpelis/Zeca duo and calling up an average Siopis is like having the same person 3 times in the squad.

  10. samaris has been back on track with benfica the last 2 weeks, yesterday he scored for them. i would like to see him in the call ups again.

on the other hand what a disappointment koulouris and mparkas have been. the first one barely, barely scores for toulouse in french's b division and the second one has lost his starting spot at celtic. truth to be told his replacement is doing far worse since he has conceded something like 14 goals in 7 games although i heard they will be looking for a starting goalkeeper in january.

btw fabio cappelo praised manolas before their game against milan, someone should tell him we got michailidis, svarnas, tzavellas and lambropoulos who are better than him. if needed we also move kourmpelis to play as a CB FCKING LMAO.

First say hi to Fat Phil.

Second there no such player as Tziolis. As far as I know he has retired.

Third Siovas, Manolas and Tzavellas have no business being on the NT.

Only players that are under 30 years old and in form should be called up for national team duties.

Manolas specifically is 29 and is one of the best cbs this country has ever produced. and you want him out for what?

i suppose him and siovas were good enough defensively (sokratis as well) when we almost reached the quarter finals in 2014 and later challenged what turned to be world's number 2 and 3 in belgium and croatia.

You got favorable draws because of a fluke called EURO 2004. But this could not carry on forever. Not only that. We did not do anything to take advantage of that miracle to develop and improve the game in Greece. Instead more infighting took place which brought us to the lowest point ever in the history of the national team losing to the likes of Faroe Islands, etc. We are now in the rebuilding process with this coach and he is moving in the right direction. Letting him go now some faction wants it would be a mistake.

    im talking post 2014 era.
