  2. Nice @pash and the ad revenue changes everything, although I'm totally stunned the cheese lobby has that much cheddar to throw around (ba dum tss)
  3. I think the number was "over $5MM" per https://www.paok24.com/blog/paok24/136433/o-paok-plisiazei-sto-open Also the $5MM was net whereas we have undisclosed expenses - I think Nova claimed $100k cost for each broadcast. Either way, seems far off and maximum 25-35k viewers for PAOK-Aris is a huge, huge setback. No reason to expect even half that for teams like Lamia, Volos, Xanthi, AEL, etc.
  4. I'm discouraged because these numbers are still too low ... By kick off if they can't get at least 50,000 subscribed views for PAOK-Aris then I am really concerned they won't get close to the $6MM they could have gotten from Nova for the year.
  5. At the highest levels you have to make your own luck, that's not an adequate excuse imo. The problem with the 442 is we don't have the central mids to run and cover box to box when we do not have possession. Pelkas has played poorly but the dude basically drops back and acts as a box-to-box midfielder so he's spending loads of energy, isn't in the advanced positions he needs to be to be effective, and is gassed by the 65'. Omar is also not built for that at all he commits tragically inept fouls because he does not know how to defend. Agree Abel takes some blame here because he needed to adjust his system to the personnel until he could get his type players. His entire system is based on the defend-by-having-the-ball, which we are not built to run. Under no circumstances should we concede 2 goals at home to a team like this.
  6. I love everything Savvidis and team have done for us these last several years, but we need to be honest. This looks like it will be the 2nd year in a row we cant even make the UEL group stage. The Superleague is not competitive. If you want to be serious about Europe, you need to start planning your summer moves in January and be quick to invest in upgrading your squad. Even a squad that's undefeated champs it's the SL and it means nothing. I know this team should be able to handle Slavia anyway, but you need to constantly build to be dominant so these things don't happen. This roster wasn't good enough for group stages last year, we should not have taken it for granted that it would be good enough this year. A $3mill transfer for a center half that appears to be a substitute for now is simply inadequate. Your moves need to be locked up in June and the additions participate in camps and be completely part of the team fabric. If you don't improve your starting XI year after year, you are basically going backwards in today's game. This is a bitter, bitter disappointment if it holds.
  7. I’m at work and can’t watch but is this really happening? Da fuq do we let Slovan get a second goal?
  8. @pash - agree with your prior post. If we only average 45k over 15 home games it's not enough. It's too few viewers period and too little revenue even if the "derby" games double or triple that output. I'm flying to Greece on Sunday so I can't watch the game but I'm still buying the $7.99 package out of principle.
  9. First - three quick questions and then my useless opinion: (1) If PAOK plays away at OSFP (or any team that signed with Nova) does that mean the game is broadcast on Nova? (2) Does PAOK still have the ability to broadcast said game on PAOKtv - at least to those outside of Greece? (3) If OSFP plays at PAOK - does this mean OSFP fans can only watch on PAOKtv? My thoughts: PAOKtv has been a thing for ~2 years now. You can't argue PAOK appears to operate in a financially responsible manner. They have 2 years of data on how many viewers PAOKtv gets for their home games. They should be able to predict their "floor" for online viewership and (reliably?) estimate 'new' viewership without a TV deal. I fully expect PAOK understands their own cost to broadcast. I do not believe team Savvidis would have done this if they thought they would lose money every game. If they can average 75k viewers/home game, that's $5.6MM (not including expenses of course - and I don't believe the Nova argument of $100k per broadcast). This also does not count any potential foreign viewership of away games - if that's a possibility - nor does it count direct ad revenue during the broadcast, or foreign licensing of the broadcast like @Nilaul mentioned. Consider the home games with OSFP-PAO-AEK-Aris will probably get much bigger numbers. Say each of those games average 150k viewers (worldwide that is VERY achievable imho) - that's $2.94MM for just those 4 games. Assuming 75k for the other 11 - that's still $7.11MM for 15 games. I think this can be a very lucrative model if handled appropriately. I'm fascinated to see how it turns out.
  10. we need to try and keep possession nothing good happens if Ajax has the ball 60% of the time ... that's essentially how they play defense. Otherwise, they are susceptible
  11. bravo to APOEL they always surprise me tbh - small club big heart
  12. lineup announced - same as the first leg. So much for "surprises"
  13. Not sure if there will be a mobile friendly link - I am still trying to find the new Discord that posts the links r/soccerstreams used to have but in the meantime these two usually have decent options - a few of which usually pan out: https://footybite.com/football/ajax-vs-paok-live-stream/ http://livetv.sx/enx/eventinfo/828454_ajax_paok/
  14. I'm shocked we look so winded ... didn't we train in 40+C weather for two weeks? I know some of it is low morale after the conceding two shitty goals but ...
  15. I'm real impressed with Esiti so far ... not flashy but he shows up where he is needed
  16. I like the substitutions so far ... cheers Abel
  17. we are starting to look tired - Ajax playing two competitive matches already is a nice advantage. they are already starting to push higher
  18. we can't waste great chances this team is too good ...
  19. Oh man I really want to see us get at least 1 more to feel comfortable
  20. http://tsportv4.ucoz.club/sap.html this works too but its in dutch cannot find a good greek or english stream
  21. Thank god Neres isn't playing he would eat Giannoulis' luch ...
  22. i thought r/soccerstreams was shut down - do you know another reddit page with links??
  23. @pash Agree Oliveira fills a huge need as a true 8 and better suited than Augusto next to Omar but I have not seen enough to judge his full skill set. I think when you see this style one of the wide mids drifts inside toward the center of the field - Limnios would be well suited to the role when he plays (imo his future is as a modern attacking RB). The other wide mid gets high and cuts inside to act like a second striker (almost exactly what Biseswar does anyway when he plays as a LM). Pelkas would drop a bit behind them and play the '10' and your fullbacks become your wide midfielders. Assuming Fereira does ANY of this, then it could look similar to Gregg Berhalter's system from the Columbus Crew and now USMNT. This tactical analysis could be pretty close: https://www.massivereport.com/2017/8/23/16191846/tactical-preview-la-galaxy-faces-crew-sc .. If Vierinha comes back 100% he and Matos are perfect for this attacking style. Would work against many teams but I agree, not convinced it works against Ajax.
