  1. It looks like (I don't know first hand) that Ingason is a step above the CB we have now, which takes the power completely away from Varella. At that point it's take what I give you or leave it. I'd imagine that if we do sign him, and we keep Varella, Crespo will be riding the bench soon as the new guy is fit. Again, that's if the little info that I've seen is true.
  2. Reports are that Sverrir Ingason of Rostov is a done deal. Georgie S confirmed they were close to signing him in a response to a fan on Instagram. Transfermarket has his value at approx. $4.5 million and from what I'm reading he'll be getting about $1m/year. Could this mean Varella is getting his bluff called?
  3. Mauricio or Sakhov should come off first...both have yellows
  4. Vieirinha looks good today... Maybe he can get a goal today.
  5. Honestly, guys like Crespo and Canas are exactly the payers I was hoping we would be getting a major upgrade in. Crespo is good sometimes, but when he's bad he's tragic.
  6. I don't think Warda is being sold. El Kaddouri maybe. Savvidis changed his account. its @savvidisteam now
  7. Getting paid is not gonna be easy for Prijovic. I guarantee it. Especially if they get relegated. I know for a fact, that getting those Saudi Arabian clubs to pay up usually involves a court battle.
  8. So Al Itihad signed Prijo and Rodrigues?? They're building a nice little offense over there. Athens, I agree. Arnesen's only real mistake was hiring Tudor....and Terry Antonis, lol. But overall his signings I think turned a nice profit.
  9. Not really...the guy's only played in 2 or 3 matches. He must have had a very impressive 2 year stint at Rijeka to justify an almost $3M transfer fee.
  10. A trip to Portugal definitely helped Pelkas' game.
  11. It's not in our hands...it's in Prijo's hands now... The buy out clause is met, so if Prijo wants to go, he can go.
  12. I think between Akpom, Karelis and Pelkas we can cover the CF position and still win the league. I think Akpom will surprise everyone if he actually gets playing time. I think Akpom and Karelis were picked up for this exact scenario....
  13. For some reason I thought he was younger.... HI just saw he's 28, turning 29 in April. Signing a 5 year contract is basically him ending his career in Saudi Arabia... 25M over the next 5 years looks mighty good considering his alternative is probably 7 or 8 million over the the next 5 years. Thats not a small difference. On the flip side, I wouldn't move to Saudi Arabia for 5 year to make triple what I make now.
  14. The winter transfer window is a good opportunity for teams to fill positions that are left open from injury and to generally improve going into the 2nd half of the season. I think Prijo has a big decision to make. He can take the money, which at $5M/year for 5 years is A LOT of money....but move to a country and league where he'll be a forgotten player for the prime of his career, or he can take his chances playing with us the next 6 months, potentially winning a championship and playing in Champions League next year....which is basically the "Big Stage" for players in smaller European teams and could lead to going to a much more respectable league. Prijo seems like a guy with the confidence to invest in himself and say "I'll do another year at PAOK and potentially get picked up by a top or second tier European team and get paid"...but then again in football you're always an injury away from losing it all. Tough decision. I know for a fact that players that head over to Saudi Arabia to play get paid but are MISERABLE there.
  15. I'll be in Greece late July and August 2019. It's been 16 years
  16. Definitely depends on your circumstances and location. If you're single with no kids, you can live like a rock star on $60K a year. If you're married with kids, you need a combined family income of at least $120K to be comfortable, and even then you can't really live in or near Boston. My health insurance and tuition for 3 kids is about $40K/year. Where I live, a decent single family home with 3 or 4 bedrooms costs about $750K. If you move 20 minutes North, you can get a mansion for$600K.....so I think the main things to consider are: Location of residence, Location of work, level of debt, Marital status, kids and level of education. If you have a high school diploma, and no trade school or college, then you really can't be mad if you're making over $50K/year. If you have a Masters degree and are carrying like $180K in debt and you make less than $100K year, you're in rough shape.
