^ re did you watch the past 2 games. he was the only offensive threat greece had :P Samaris looks like he's in a class of his own compared to the rest of the Greek midfield. he glides with the ball and sets up plays from the back thinking 3-4 steps ahead

that lineup is robust defensively, but we need super speed in order to win with it via the counterattack our offensively gifted players aren't fast except pelkas, karelis fetfa
-
Schibbe himself stated it was a 3 - 5 - 2 in press conference the reports are dicey. like for the luxenbourg game Katsouranis was in the expected lineup LOL (apparently they didn't get the memo he retired) anyone have a full video of the game? would love to watch it before bed I only saw 5 different highlight reals. the turkish commentators were going nuts. glad to see that a population 8x smaller then them can get them aroused so easily ;)

wait a minute cosmos isn't even in the MLS right? wtf at least go to the MLS lol

haha F*** that. smart smart move. we simply cannot lose to the turks. a 0-0 draw is super important. we showed how robust our defense can be against at team that's score in EVERY game they've been in this year and top form. For us, this is a good thing. it was most likely that we were going to LOSE today guys. this draw is a god send lol. now we just gotta work on beefing up the attack. mitroglou is trying hard out there, he's getting NO service. we need fortounis, ninis, tachtsidis, pelkas/mantalos, samaris all out there at once.
-
Along with Samaris. Holebas & Mitroglou amongst our best players. Mitroglou shot at least 3 shots on target top left/right corners. with ninis & fortounis both in the 11, I'm confident we'd do very well. we absolutely dominated the game. we need creativity, in the midfield, which we have if we play the right players.
-
We were missing Holebas, Tachtsidis, Fortounis, Pelkas ALL players who MUST be starting. That's 4 of 11. I didn't mind playing Fetfatzidis though, I'm a fan. The fact that he's in Saudi Arabia gives him more energy to play hard for the ethiniki. We saw how clubless players were able to turn it up to the ethiniki. A controversial statement, but a true one.
-
If he plays in MLS I would not be opposed to him playing for the ethiniki again. Gignac is playing Mexican league right now and scored against Germany this week for France. MLS is better than the Scottish league is now IMO anyways. Drogba, Kaka, Pirlo, Villa - even at their 30s are great players.

Kone is a must at least as a sub, only problem is his natural position we have 4 other startable players CAM we have Ninis, Fortounis, Mantalos, Pelkas. Pelkas can play on the wing because he has great pace. 1789 points out he can be used as striker. He hasn't exactly gotten enough goals in his career to warrant that though. If anything Fetfatzidis should be on our left wing, or Lazaros instead of Karelis. I like Karelis, he works well with Mitroglou and Ninis. He's only 23, great pace, an additional goal threat and quite the passionate player. He will improve.

Karnezis Torosidis- Manolas--Sokratis -Holebas Tachtsidis---Samaris- Ninis/Fortou Karelis Pelkas Mitroglou ^ If we field this exact lineup, I don't think many teams could beat us. I don't recall ever seeing this lineup. And I think we could take the turks with it. No stupid subs either. Kone, Mantalos, Kpaps are acceptable.

I think Greeks stick together better than the Italians, French, or English. The only exception I would say is the Jews stick together better than the Greek. That's it. The Turks almost lost to Qatar. The salvaged their game in 70th minute. I don't see them blowing us out, but I see them beating us 1-0 or 2-0. Our Defense is solid. Don't forget. Karnezis, Torosidis, Sokratis, Ninis, Manolas did not start. That's half of our starting 11 not starting. We've yet to see a full powered Greece in 2 years. There's always been 2-4 key players missing, often more.
