Most possible stuff to happen in my opinion in the playoffs, if the Rankings don't change much: Pot 1 Italy, Switzerland(prob them) Iceland Northern Ireland Pot 2: Denmark/Montenegro Greece Ireland/Serbia Slovakia In my opinion Northern Ireland is a very low quality team. We did lose to them twice but I believe we have a very different mentality right now and outclass them a lot. Iceland seem decent (working well, nothing perfect rosterwise) but they were considered a nothing in the Euro Group, underrated (similar to the costa rica in 2014 wc). Anyways I believe we outclass them as well, with mediocre players like Finnbogannson who barely made an impact in the GSL. I guess everyone tryhards to win them and they get countered. Another factor is that I ve never seen them play vs a highly defensive side. All their Group teams hunting for 2nd spot are trash defensively : Ukraine/Turkey. Even Croatia has nothing defensive to hold the status *Favorite to win the WC* as some are saying. Bottom line I believe that even they are a favorable draw. Switerland is better than us but we ve beat better teams in the playoffs as well. We got the mentality of the play off winner. Anyways to sum up. Pots might be meaningless. Im honestly not worried about Belgium. I am pretty sure Bosnia will drop oints to Cyprus and possibly Estonia. Talinn proved hard both for Greece and Belgium. Plus the fact that Estonia is regaining confidence as they doing well, I believe in their Home their fans will lust for an upset. I believe Zeca does not help much in the offensive part of the game. Apart from his solid passing his vision and his through/smart balls that arethe advantage when you outclass an opponent (like Greece does to the Estonian NT), are nothing very interesting. Statswise he is a very defensive based mid, and I doubt he will be needed vs Estonia. My go is Samaris - Tachtsidis. I believe Skibbe can experiment on the wings, but I really think Donis will only be used as a sub, and he ll go with Tzavellas FullBack and Stafylidis Winger. Saddly, Paok didn't make it to the Champions League playoff spot, as I believe that Pelkas could actually have some play time there and possibly give Skibbe a few reasons to call him. Looks like his call up is going to wait.

Saddly 2nd place is off limits now due to hte Mantalos miss. Bosnia wont stela points frmo this Belgium. They did 3 years ago but Belgium under Martinez has been a much better side, while Bosnia has lost any decency they had. Probably after so many failures in a row they re uninterested. Fifa Ranking. As long as we avoid Spain/Italy and Portugal/Switzerland who will be 100% seeded Ireland/Iceland/Wales (the most possible rest top seed contenders) don't seem such a big of a problem. With some friendly wins and a mixture of results fron other teams we might even end up seeded. Its too early to predict anything. I think what we do vs Belgium might even decide if we re top or bottom seed.

Stafylidis started as a winger man. It's not exactly the same. Holebas has been a defender his whole life, and has been successfull for the NT since his debut in it. Its just that Skibbe didnt rate Stafylidis at that time. Maybe if he did we wouldn't see such an unexpected exit of Holebas.

Guys there are things we dont know. Remember Christodoulopoulos 5 v 2 counter attack vs Costa Rica where he just wasted it, and the match itself? Even the coach Santos and I think Karagounis as well, went out and said that some selfish plays cost us the game. I think Lazaros Christodoulopoulos has not been called since 2014. Bakasetas only attribute in the game is his defensive duties and backpass. But I think that sooner or later Donis will dethrone him from his starter spot. Might be the fact that Bosnians pressed to take the 3 points though, but he seemed much more of a threat than Bakasetas, who has no dribble and no real winger IQ, to get past one or two players and make a key pass to a lone Mitroglou. He is a SS, if we dont get a 5-3-2 he is gonna be pretty useless. I will agree for Pelkas. Would love to see him as a Fortounis back up, or Right Winger since he can actually play there.

Estonia away is a difficult match, and they play the same period we did (10 october 2016 Estonia Greece/ 10 october 2016 Estonia Bosnia), and I remember the Greek Commentators saying how difficult it is to play football because of the unsufferable cold. Doubt this was the reason Estonia played so well. They defeated Croatia's B-team in a friendly 3-0. I really expect them to be very hard, at home at least. Cyprus away is also very tricky especially for Bosnians. They lost to them at Euro 2016 campaign, and this match was what cost them the Euro 2016 Instant qualification.

Donis having an Impact vs Bosnia while Bakasetas failing to do so vs 3 minnows was obvious to someone without any coaching skills. These are the players that need to be core players, weather as starters or as early subs depending on the result we wanna keep/get: Karnezis/Kapino as Goalkeepers Mitroglou as Striker Sokratis/Manolas/Papadopoulos as CBs Torosidis as Right Back Tzavellas/Stafylidis as Left Back. Stafylidis/Donis as Left Wing Fortounis/Mantalos as Attacking mid/Right Winger. Their creativity has won us many matches, Mantalos lost a crucial chance that could ve given us 1st spot, but he gave us solutions vs the weaker teams. Can't drop a player just because of a Miss. He is very talented, although he had a bad game, his defensive duties were never unattended. He deserves a spot in the starting 11 but can't make it on the wings. All these players are the core players. Our weak spot is the defensive mid/holding mid positions who we haven't ended up in any good conclusion yet. Samaris seems the favorite for starter whenever available so I guess he should be considered a core player as well. When we need players out of the game, like Pjanic yesterday, and probably like Kevin De bruyne in August Zeca will probably be use to just be the shadow of such a player, to not let him have space to breathe. When we need someone tall to be able to contain players like Medundjanin and Fellaini, Tachtsidis will be used to battle with him. When he aint available, seems like Tziolis will be used instead. Maniatis probably lost his starting spot from Zeca now that he proved his worth and lust, so I doubt we ll see him start again vs a decent team. Might get playtime vs Gibraltar or when games vs other minnows are considered finished, because Skibbe seems to rate him, as well as Tziolis. Can't say anything about Gianniotas,Siopis,Retsos,Kourbelis,Vellios,Karelis,Lykogiannis,Kolovos due to limited playtime. All I can say is that Oikonomou, Diamantakos need to be dodged from the team, unless no other options (booked/injured) are available. But after all, who else can take a spot ? Pelkas,Siovas are some possibilities. So, to sum up, GK, Offense,Defense, seem locked for a while, from players who proved their worth to Skibbe. Midfield clearly seems questionable about who plays, but it might not be a matter of form or talent, but a matter of needs.The fact that Skibbe uses new Mids every game probably isnt the fact that he hasnt ended up in proper starters. Seems like he does it for the needs of each game. I guess he can experiment vs minnows like Gibraltar and Estonia, as long as the 3 points are secured. Maybe Skibbe is a really good coach after all. The aim for this NT is not to qualify for the WC, but the playoff spot. WIth groups like this , ending up in Portugal/Switzerland, Sweden/France/Netherlands, Spain/Italy in 2nd spot, missing WC against them can't be considered a failure. Missing 2nd spot, especially after such results as X vs Bosnia @Bosnia and X vs Belgium @Belgium, though is a big failure, but it's not Skibbes fault that we dropped to pot 3 and were 49 in the rankings when he came. So blaming him for missing the WC is unrealistically not a choice. Praising him if we do make it, however, is.

Let them cry all they want. There is a reason why Rizzoli was given such a match to referee. Not every ref has the chance to whistle Finals of WC and Champions League. Offensively I agree they looked poorly but honestly too much defensive duties cant let them shine. We won the midfield today with our B choices Zeca and Tziolis (C choice actually). We didn't do it with our starters. Clearly Fortounis and Mantalos helped in that as they created an uperari8mia in the midfield and were always the extra pass man in the area.
