Wow the stadium looks pretty damn full
-
Just read that Biseswar might get the start there too. Not bad. Expect lots of movement between him and Pelkas!

AEK managed a 1-0 win vs Asteras, through a penalty that was converted by the construction worker. Olympiakos drew 2-2 vs Atromitos, which is a great result for us. Current standings: AEK 47 PAOK 46 OSFP 43 Atromitos 39 A win tomorrow will put us two points ahead of AEK, and six points ahead of Olympiakos. As a reminder, next week AEK hosts Xanthi while Olympiakos hosts Panionios. Any draws or losses by those two will give us a massive advantage heading into the end of the season.

The team had a bad start. I don't blame him much more than I blame the other guys in the squad. Reports are that both Matos and Vieirinha will start tomorrow. Hopefully he doesn't crash and burn in the games that actually matter.
-
For sure. I think this is a morale thing. Though I can't see us keeping Glykos next season, we can't have three starter level GKs in the squad after all...
-
I believe Larisa's fans are banned from our game too, aren't they?
-
Realistically, Lucescu needs to make a decent attempt to win each game - Savvidis (to say nothing of our fans) will demand that. Especially with the added pressure of this winning streak. There's all sorts of possible reasons for why he chose who he chose, but God knows he'll never admit them on camera. For the last game, I doubt Lucescu thought Matos would look as bad as he did (which is not to say he played poorly; he just didn't have the energy we usually see). Had he reason to suspect that, I feel we would have seen someone else in that position. Right now, though, I think he played his hand and *needs* to sit the guy out. Unless the guy's come up with some sort of miracle cure for fatigue, this will be a disaster waiting to happen. Also, if it makes you feel better, if there's anyone I would count on to out-dribble Larisa's packed defense in Matos' absence, it would be Vieirinha. But knowing Lucescu, he'll probably just put Crespo in there out of spite. Maybe more interesting to me is what Azevedo will look like in a game where he's expected to go on offense. Judging by his highlights reel, we might be seeing a Campos-style fighter over there.
-
That's a good point actually...having them travel up to us to get a taste of of our fans will only help us.
-
That's pretty funny. Forest would probably do better if they DID sign Glykos, however.
-
Against Larisa? If Vieirinha isn't good enough to cover that position against that team, then we're not good enough to challenge for the championship.

I posted extended highlights in the game thread on that forum. Not great quality

Skibbe was in attendance today for Atromitos-PAOK. I can't speak for Atromitos' side, but he was clearly there to get a glimpse of Pashalakis (who have only given up two goals in our now 14-game winning streak), Pelkas, Koulouris (who had a goal and an assist) and maybe a bit of Limnios. This GK is on fire right now and absolutely deserves to be called up. It would be a criminal act if Pelkas didn't get included in the next lineup, as well.
-
Do you want AEK because of their schedule? Or to get the confrontation out of the way?
-
Matos looked exhausted today. I think he should sit this next one out. Now that Azevedo's gotten his dick wet, I say put Vieirinha there. --Pashalakis-- --Vieirinha--Varela--Crespo--Azevedo-- --Mauricio--Shakhov-- --Campos--Pelkas--Mak-- --Prijovic--
-
Good to see Skibbe at this game too btw. He was reportedly scouting Limnios before (kind of surprising). He's got a lot of options out of this team.
-
Great reaction by our GK, following the wonderful "clean" celebration by Koulouris
-
Koulouris makes it 1-3
-
Canas with his second-ever goal!
-
Goal Shakhov! After a great setup by Koulouris
-
Anyone see how Olympiakos played? I'm hoping we'll see them enter a period of near-constant depression-driven losses, myself.
-
Game ended 2-1 in favor of AEK. Were there really no cards?
-
Why do you say that? Siambanis is likely just included as he fulfills the youth player requirement.
-
Here are the 18 players that were chosen. Prijovic is sitting out as he had some sort of infection. Notable that Moulin is in the squad (but will surely not see game time).

Leovac confirmed to be heading back to Croatia, six-month loan followed by a purchase option. Presumably we're not still going to be paying his wages.
