Can someone explain to me why all this buy out clause talk matters? The "journalists" are going nuts over this (just as they did when we signed a spate of players to contracts WITH clauses a few years ago). I don't see how it's relevant to how a team deals with incoming offers. Like, if someone were to offer us 9 million for Giannoulis, you tellin' me we wouldn't jump on it? Or 13mm for a player with a 15mm clause? When all is said and done, the same tactics will still be used by players to get out of contracts, and teams will still accept less money if they feel a player has outgrown his usefulness... Hell, the Spanish league requires all players to have clauses, but I guarantee you 99% of them don't ever get exercised. Anyway, rant over. Good that he's extended. Now to hope Giannoulis plays ball. The fact that we even have to ask nicely implies that he was planning on getting out of here - perhaps we'll see him leave in the winter instead.

Re Colak: saw on instagram a claim that savvidis said it wasn't happening but I didn't see the referenced denial anywhere... As for Kitsiou...he had his chances, has there been any improvement while in Turkey?

Yeah, I forgot about the huge resale rate. Still, we'll make roughly a million off of him. I'll count any small win. The Colak rumors were definitely out in force a few weeks ago, and I do remember hearing they wanted considerably more than we could spend. Selling Limnios + Akpom for a net of ~6mm should allow us to buy this guy and cover his salary for the next two seasons. If they want him it's a no-brainer to me (his stats are very good). Obviously the Limnios piece of that pie is still up in the air but the bonus we get for making it to the play-offs should be able to cover the price on its own. @paokarag4I didn't hear anything about re-signing him? Big if true! And definitely a no-brainer. The positive there is that we have him until 2022, so if the team wants to play hardball this season, they can. Whether or not he wants to sign a new contract when there are teams interested in him is another matter, unfortunately. I would be in favor of offering him more money for a longer contract once we know how Europe will shake out, however.

Big props to El Kaddouri and Schwab for holding our midfield together. The whole team stunk in the first half but it all came together in the second. Tzolis cool as a cucumber, love this kid. Akpom big improvement in the second half, Swiderski looked mostly lost. I say for next game start Pelkas as striker and play Zivkovic in his spot.

The team's need to sell has been significantly lessened now.
