  1. That's what happens when you read the Daily Mail...You only get half the story. Athens leapt into the 21st Century thanks to the 2004 Olympics but the English press keeps on about doom and gloom for London in 2012. Btw, the Daily Express is even worse!

  7. Kaklamanakis finished 8th (outside the medals) and Kostas Douvalidis was eliminated in the semi-finals (he would have had to break the Greek record again to qualify). Let's see how our basketball team does
  8. In my days zip was being invested in athletics. Double-zip for women. Anyone know what the story is now? Btw, our water polo team defeated China. I think the score was 13-8. Kaklamanakis has a good chance for a medal in sailing, later in the day. Also, our basketball team plays Argentina in the quarters. :gr:
  9. I read yesterday that one of the athletes caught on performance-enhancing drugs was a shooter (skopeftis). How on earth do drugs enhance the performance of a shooter?

  20. When will they get it right...
  21. UEFA's flirt with Italy goes back many years... This is before the time of many of you but once, in a European competition, an Italian club (Inter?) lost 7-1 to a German team in the 2nd leg of that competition. A few Italian supporters were so disgusted with their team, they threw objects onto the pitch. Guess what? UEFA decided that the German hosts lost control of the crowd and invalidated the 7-1 result! The teams were ordered to play again, in a neutral venue, and Inter went through after a 0-0 result!
  22. In Wales, a Montgomery Town goalkeeper scores from 80 yards out: From the BBC
