  1. Xaxaxaxa someone help us.

Tziolis was once a decent defensive midfielder. He's played Champions League. He's played in the Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A and in France. What a career.

He also seems to be a very decent and humble person but...he's been awful for about the last 3 years. He's not even a lock at PAOK.

He has no business in the Ethniki. He's not the only one though.

  2. Actually Antonis' parents are Australian born. His grandparents migrated to Australia so I can sort of understand him not speaking but the thing that I found surprising is that I don't think he speaks English well.

I heard him in a radio interview and he sounds like an unintelligent dago wop Goomba! Lol

  3. I'm in agreement with JVC. I don't have any issue with individual Turks. I played with one this past year in a local Greek team.

I don't think they are like "us". Their mentality is definitely Oriental/islamic. The liberal ones are more western though.

The Turkish government and their geo-politics is anti-Greece, undemocratic and makes the region dangerous. This is a discussion from another thread so I won't continue.

I couldn't care less if a Greek plays for a Turkish team and vice versa. The Turkish league is about the same standard as ours but they have a larger base to pay better and fill their stadiums so why not play there. It's economics in the end.

Van Persie gets paid millions, even he can pretend he loves Fener and the culture.

Anyway, I hope PAO does the job against Qabala.

  4. If he does get called up (and this is the Greece NT with it's bizarre loyalties and selections so not out of the reasons of possibility) then I'd like to see how he performs given that he's 36 with no club and no pre-season.

If he gets called up I am shaving my nuts and going Mykonos.

  5. As a non-AEK supporter I'm really impressed with Mandalos. Excellent technique and vision. Very good left foot as well.

I hope he fully recovers and returns even better this season.

  6. Bravo aek66. Some realism and perspective.

Some posters think it's sacrilegious to criticize Otto because the man sorted us out to reach the pinnacle in international competition.

The thing most of these people can't admit is that for the next 6 years after THAT Euro he trashed not only his brand but the promise and goodwill that our national team had.

Those players who should have been respected internationally but after Otto's tenure was over, they and this current team are the poster boys of retrograde and anti-football the world over!

Instead of doing the best for the national team to set them up for the future his vanity and preference for selecting out of form players and using inefective tactics has lead us to our current predicament.

He and the players he relied on were the worst team at the 2005 confederation cup whilst also bombing out for the 2006 world cup.

Qualifying for the 2008 European tournament was a false dawn as was the WC in 2010 where we were the worst team in those tournaments.

You try to present some objectivity but you get beaten down by the fan boys and the uninformed.

We are largely where we are now because of Otto's mishandled years from 2004 to 2010.

Years ago I used to go on about him stepping down post Euro win. I was adamant then and history shows I was right.

  7. I know you do.

    We all do.

It's tough, but you will get over it in time.

One step in front of the other.

    Be strong.

  8. Not sure about genius but definitely the scapegoat for the disaster that is the Ethniki.

Clowns like Karagounis, Katsouranis and Vydra should take far more responsibility for what's happened. Ranieri is long gone but the illiterate and narrow minded are still on about him.

    Let it go you dinosaurs!
