  1. I am neither sentimental for Santos nor envious of Portugal. Good luck to them but Santos had his time as Greece coach and he was equally part frustrating and fortunate as well to have had on paper, a seemingly decent run.

Although I preferred Santos to Otto's reign post Euro 2004, I still don't understand the yearning for him.

He was dire at Euro 2012. How he picked Chalkias to be his starting keeper let alone even having him in the squad was ridiculous. Picking Avraam as his starting central defender was equally self-sabotaging when you consider the season that Kyriakos Papa had. Thankfully through luck (as in injury) both of these players had little influence and Santos's hand was forced. However against Germany when the whole world was watching he was so frustratingly conservative that he again sabotaged us.

OK, he overachieved if you compare him with Otto post 2004, but that just shows how much Rehhagel had seriously lost the plot post Euro 2004 and was embarrassing for Greece.

  2. I wasn't supporting Portugal before, but given the comments of Santos I will be going for them especially if Germany wins tonight.

Portugal have done enough but hardly look like Champions but now that they are in the final they may well win it.

Critics can trash them but they cant deny them if they win. The English press I guess will be feral though.

  3. Redknapp is from a bygone era and he's got little relevance or credibility in modern football.

The guy recently even got involved in a poor franchise club in Australia. He's not actually coming to Australia but will advise the club from the comfort of his sitting room. So I'm sure they'll improve from their bottom place last season to second last or something.

  4. It's called the "Serafino 4th Edge". The guy who designed it went straight to England to try and get endorsements from players and clubs.

I guess he could get only 'Arry Redknapp to "praise" it. Lol

If anyone is interested they should Google "Serafino 4th edge".

  5. It's most definitely for real.

The boot and it's "unique" concept was developed by an Australian.

He even managed to convince former SBS TV guru Les Murray to invest in it as well. Looks like Les might be looking for a job if he ploughed hundreds if thousands in to it.

  6. I agree that if there was more of an Australian presence in Greece there would be a focus on them and the league, but the reality is that 99% of Australian players aren't good enough for Greece.

Let's pretend for a second and consider this scenario: "Bruno Fornaroli would tear the Greek league apart if he ever played there!"

We all know that Fornaroli was one of the biggest duds to EVER play in Greece. He went there on 550k Euros a season and aside from 2 goals in the cup against lower league opponents, laid an egg in the league.

He is probably the best import to play in the A-League whilst he'll forever be considered a joke in Greece. That's the difference between GSL and A-lg.

No offense meant to the player as he seems like a decent person though.

  7. I want France to win. They were my tip before the tournament.

I don't mind if Portugal win but as they have never won it still means Greece is in that rare group of winners.

France, Germany have won the World Cup and Euro before but Belgium and Portugal haven't. I'd prefer Portugal over Germany and Belgium though.

  8. Young Savvidis played that very well. Respect.

Vierinha sounds like he's an opportunist and is definitely playing the PAOK fans.

As a follower of Greek football I want all the clubs to be strong in Europe and for the league to be close. Vierinha will make PAOK better but if he's not serious then xeston.

  9. Last season was the biggest false start. They seem to have a plan with Arnesen as TD. They install an untried young coach in Tudor then begin signing a mixed bunch of players from the fringe leagues and clubs of Europe. Jairo, Sabo, Rodriguez, Olsen, Cimirot and Berbatov. Some are complete fails and this process is being repeated again.

Hope those in charge have some sort of clue.

  10. I'm going against most of the sentiments here but my personal opinion is that Nigel Farage is a borderline racist. There's enough proof out there that he is. He's also lowlife who doesn't care about Greece or the people of Greece.

He might criticise the EU but it's to serve his ideology. So Britain is out of the EU, what now manga? Apparently it's not his problem.

  11. I could care less for England and English football/footballers. They think they are entitled to respect, or consideration of special treatment because of some link to the sports beginnings?!

They aren't the best or close to being the best and their EPL is the equivalent of chocolate covered s#1t. I seriously hope their moronic decision by a majority racist and closed-minded section of the population to withdraw from the European Union impacts the EPL. They can pay way over the top for skoupidia like Raheem Sterling and that meth head Vardy but that doesn't change the fact that Italian, Spanish and German players are levels better than them.

England losing to Iceland is not some earth shattering upset. Who the f*** are England anyway? Small and corrupt Greece have a won a trophy in recent memory, why the f*** can't these c*nts?! Good riddance to chavs, racists and pompous twats.
