No I think what he's doing is a common old fashioned goalkeeper pose thing. He's 100% Greek. Barkas is a common enough name in Greece.
Although he's born in Holland as OS pointed out.

Good signing. A lot of Ukrainian based players being looked at by a few Super League clubs.
As unattractive as Greece is at the moment, ask yourself a question: if your options were playing in a country with a failed economy over staying in a country that is going through civil war and is also an economic basket case.
I know what I'd choose for me and my family.

Are you still fitting in to your skinny jeans?

Official protest has been lodged by Kontonis to UEFA and the tournament organisers.
Also the Greek Foreign ministry condemned the incident to Albania and UEFA.

Agreed on both counts but when Pelkas is "on" he's very impressive.

Lol yeah Rama the idiot said that Zeus was Albanian. He's supported by history on this. Ohh wait, he's not much like those other deluded idiots the Monkeydonijans.

Well said Giourkas. I anticipate a UEFA statement condemning the banner and a fine too.
Amazing the appeasement these uneducated idiots from this backward country get.
Albanians even claim that Sotiris Ninis is an Albanian which is ironic given that as an ethnic Greek he would have been abused and discriminated against by the very people who now want to claim him and Pyrros Dimas.

I'm more excited about this tournament than the Euros.
I hope Mexico win and they can then stick it up that orange colored moron Trump.

Lorik Cana the Albanian version of that Bosnian idiot Spahic just got his second yellow and he's off. Albania down to 10 men.
Free kick from that foul smacked against the post by Swiss-Abanian Dzemaili.
Btw, interesting to note that the card happy Spaniard who incorrectly sent off Sokratis in the openeing Euro 2012 match is refereeing this match. The pendejo cabron!

Albania down after 5 minutes. Poor goalkeeping by Berisha.
Switzerland is half filled with Albanians and other Balkan types as aek66 mentioned in his post. They are okay but I don't see what's so good about them. 30 minutes gone and Albania is competitive against them.
Anyway, yes good on Albania for qualifying for their first ever tournament. They have benefited by a number of unrelated factors for this.
1) Massive Albanian diaspora choosing to play for them.
2) Expanded Euro to 24 teams.
3) The confusing decision to award them a 3 nil win against Serbia (if they never got that they would have finished 3rd and no guarantees they would have even qualified).
I predict they'll probably finish last though. Romania and France should beat them and the Swiss should win this although they aren't dominating Albania and this may well end up as a draw.

Paoksyd, I agree with you aside from Gianniotas and Tachtsidis.
I thought they were the better players in Sydney and they definitely have a role provided to that they are playing regularly and are improving.

It's good to get a win against an opponent that never treats friendly matches as a friendly but like Mark Bosnich said, Australia is not at the level of quality teams (yet).
He said that Greece isn't a Germany, France, Belgium, England or Brazil, but they are still better than Australia as Australia has only had 1 win against the elite teams and something like 6 losses and 1 draw.
That draw was against Germany in Germany. Four days later they then traveled to Yugoslavia to play Monkeydonija and drew 0-0. So that's the reality of the Socceroos. We should be beating this team and this group of players.
We need to have our best players fit and organised against Holland and Russia or we will be embarrassed but for team moral and psyche tonight was good.

Shame Barkas couldn't get his first cap, but I guess you need to earn it.
-
The finish was one in a million but what about the dink over the opponent?! I never thought I'd see that level of finesse and skill from Maniatis.
-
People in Australia go on the herald sun website site and see the first headline on there
No surprise. "Violent foreigners". Typical and by the play book in how to vilify an ethnic group and a sport.
-
Samaris apparently the best player on the pitch according the pundits.
-
Some of the players have been talking positively about the match. Typical media is showing how clueless they are though.
-
Greece needs to fix up the defending from set pieces. It's how we have conceded the bulk of our goals the last year.
We look lost so it needs to be improved.
-
Greece have better players so it's about time we won against these minor nations.
Holland in September now.
-
Don't bother with stastics. Australia out possessed England too but they too lost 2-1.
So apparently Australian players were on holiday so that's why they lost say the commentators. Bwahahahsga
Yeah playing in Asia is taxing!!!!
Excuses coming out already. So Greece were jetlagged in the first match but that's just us whingeing like lazy Mediterraneans.
Psofo ilithioi!

Some mangka with a Verona flag. Suck it blockheads!

Winding down. Only seconds left but final whistle blown.
Deserved win by Greece B over the BPRoos.
-
The Greek way..
Yes bizarre lineup but given the selected players in the squad it's not unreasonable I suppose. Imagine if we were set up properly?

Czechs looked impotent until ex-PAOK player hit a hard shot at De Gea in the last minute.
Unlikely that Czechs beat Spain but they might hold for a 0-0 draw.
Spain had 74% possession but rarely got behind the Czech defence.
Czechs easily outclassed Turkey in the qualifiers too.
