PAOK will enter the competition in Round 1. If PAOK advances from Round 1, we will play inthe Group Stage of the competition.

PAOK enters the competition with a coefficient of 35.714 points, which means that they will be seeded in the strong group of teams for the draw of the Round 1. As a result of this we will most likely face an easy opponent.

Once the qualifying rounds of UEFA Cup and Champions Leage concluded, the above lists will include 80 teams, with 40 being seeded and the other 40 unseeded.

The first leg of Round 1 will be held on September 15 and the second leg on September 29.

I'll also add (in case anyone didn't know or forgot) that teams from the same country cannot draw each other in the 1st round and group stage (pretty sure).

The only thing that means in this round is that PAOK can't draw Aris :( (or AEK, Xanthi, and possibly Egaleo in the group round if they can qualify through the Intertoto Cup).

Speaking of which there are still 3 teams that get into the first round through the Intertoto Cup, which feature a few somewhat formidable teams (from the bigger Euro leagues, Valencia and Newcastle come to mind off the top of my head)

It's not only the three Intertoto teams that will join the UEFa cup Round 1, but also the losing teams from Champions League Qualifying Round 3.

Just announced that the first game was switched to Thessaloniki because the other Donetck team Shaktor will play their UEFA game at home.

Curently they are in the 4th place of the Ukrainian championship. Last season they finished 3rd in Ukrainian championship.

In the 2nd qualifying round they defeted the Hungarian side FC Sopron 2-1 at home and 3-0 in Hungary.

News is that one of the major sponsors of the team has withdrwn their sponsorship, and for that reason the team has been releasing some of their big names, such as Yaya Toure (now at Olympiakos) and the Georgian international demetradze.

Today Metallurg lost to Dinamo Kiev 3-1. the games was attended by PAOk coach Karageorgiou. Scoring for Metallurg was the Romania Alloiuta, who was mentioned as a transfer target for PAOK last December.

From what I know PAOK is currently negotiating for the TV rights to both games. Chances are that Supersport will show both games. ERT is also interested in showing at least one of the game. We should know in few days.

Georgios10, the first UEFA Cup game against Metallurg will be televized in Greece on Supersport. Since we will not be able to see it here in North America, it would be nice if we could arrange a stream for this game.

PAE PAOK is releasing 21,100 tickets for the game at Toumba. This does not include the 7,000 season ticket holders. Also Metallurg has asked for approximately 200 tickets for the game.

In order for us to have a good season, we must qualify for the group stages of UEFA!

And saly unless we strenghten as a team real quick i dont see this happening.

From last season, Metalurg lost their two key players: Gjeorgji Demetradze and Yaya Toure. Their main signings this season are Ionut Aluita from Rapid Bucuresti (€1.2M) and Vadim Melnyk from Boryspol (€450,000). As the club went through a financial crisis, they invested in cheap players and also sold their star Yaya to Olympiacos for €1.3M.
