The 30 year old Swiss defender has been offered a deal at Ibrox, but is also wanted by Southampton. With only a few appearances for Liverpool this season, he seems certain to leave. The longer this goes on, the chance of him coming north of the border gets slimmer. Unless of course he gets offered a grossly inflated contract at Ibrox. Out of Europe and with only domestic titles to play for, is this a wise move? Ex skipper Barry Ferguson seems set to return to Rangers. The Blackburn captain has stated his desire to come home following Blackburn's rejection of the Ibrox club's bid yesterday.
