Alexa Posted May 18, 2004 Share Posted May 18, 2004 The recent UTV Insight programme (17th May) showed the downside of local football. :( STV did the same sort of programme about Livingston, so why should UTV not jump on the bandwagon at their earliest possible convenience? :( Anyhow........ Here are some reasons to cheer up local fans. 1) Martin O'Neill regains the SPL championship at Celtic :) 2) Nigel Worthington takes Norwich City into the English Premiership :) 3) Jimmy Quinn steers Shrewsbury into the Football League :) 4) Ian Dowie's Crystal Palace go through to the play-off final (an amazing feat because, when he took the helm ain December 2003 Palace were lying 19th in Division One and were looking likely candidates for relegation) :) 5) Michael Hughes scores the winning penalty for Palace to take them to that play-off final :) 6) Dundela earn promotion to the NI First Division :) (OK, so the 6th one is personal.
