ZeeKoei
One of the biggest problems was Vergoossen's inability to speak French. Even though he followed language lessons, things seemed not to improve. Chairman Vaessen: "A Dutchman seems to have problems with the French language, Genk will never have a coach from the Netherlands again"

ZeeKoei
Ooops! ;) The old Wallonie - Flandre thing again!? NopeGenk is in the Flandres and Vergoossen (from the Netherlands) also spoke Dutch, so this has nothing to to with our French speaking part of the country. The problem seemed to be the language barrier with some players of foreign countries that spoke French I assume. So this is more the Belgium - Netherlands thing :box:
The2ndMouse
But in a world of so many traveling managers ... languege is the siliest excuse ever to sack a manager! .... I think you are right ... some sort of rivalry is hidden beneath it all! ;)
