Irlandos
He once was backup keeper at Manchester Utd and at N. Ireland. He made mistakes in his life and ended up in Denmark. Last summer, in his own words, there were no offers on the table except for one from newly-promoted OFI in far away Crete. Roy Carroll snatched that chance. He made the unofficial team of mid-season as the best performing keeper in Greece and got a transfer to Olympiakos. Yesterday's heroics prove he earned it. Irlandos
Olympiakos goalkeeper, Roy Carroll, had an absolute blinder of a game against Portugal in Oporto holding the hosts to a 1-1 draw with N. Ireland. Again, I think he deserves a big bravo for the way he has come back from football abyss to redeem himself! What he has lost in agility, he has made up for with experience, intelligence and excellent positioning. Keep it up! :)
