looking back at that 0-0. brutal. we had 0 shots on target. they had 6.

we also had a stronger backline in stafylidis sokratis manolas and torosidis.

we're hurting with injuries there's no room for error here and not starting koulouris and startin bakasetas on the wing again is what I fear.

I really hope we see this

             koulouris

    donis fortounis masouras

         zeca samaris/kourbelis

    koutris siovas sokratis bakakis

           vlacho

if stafylidis (lb) retsos (rb) lazaros (rw) mitroglou (st) kpaps (cb) manolas (cb) were available I'd start them in place of what we got

also won't happen but fetfa (rw/lw) and holebas (lb) but yeah i'll keep that to fifa lol

Kpaps would never start a cb over Manolas Sokratis and siovas. And if he did, there’s a big problem.

Starting Socratis is not even a question and if it is a question it’s a really dumb one.. If Socratis is healthy of course you start him.. you can build confidence from the Liechtenstein game but by no means can you judge how our defenders defended in that game..

Well In that case, you can’t really judge anyone else either right? I mean then you may as well not stop and say Donis scored. But it was only Liechtenstein. Which I’m sure 99 percent of the goalies in the world would’ve stopped. Vlachodimos can’t be judged either. He did nothing. You can say the same thing about every player. Can’t you?

siovas and kourbelis (who's a cdm/cb) are both good ball playing cb's but sokratis and manolas are better defensively. sokratis and manolas usually just do conservative passes to the wings.

I think siovas and Kourbelis should start next game also. They didn’t do anything to lose their place. The team won. Take out Bakasetas and start Donis. Keep the rest the same. They did well.

Actually as JimmyP said above , 17 goals in 65 appearances proves how badly he's performed with the NT considering he's never been challenged as striker due to a lack of options. I doubt he'd be able to keep up with Donis and Masouras....Koulouris is on fire and warrants a go against Bosnia....if he doesn't perform then sure, bring on Mitroglou.

    I agree

XI GRECIA ??: Vlachodimos; Bakakis, Siovas, Kourbelis, Koutris; Zeca, Fortounis, Samaris; Masouras, Mitroglou, Bakasetas. #EURO2020

really disappointed to see a garbage player like bakasetas start over donis who starts for his bundesliga club. Worst thing would be for him to play decent and then get the start vs Bosnia.

If he plays decent, wouldn’t that be a good thing?

  6. I read the Sokratis interview. Regardless of how good they are or not he was wrong. Very wrong to say that they don’t have the good players needed to be strong. If I were on the team and had to play with this guy, I’d lose all respect for him.

Cyprus beat San Marino 5-0. I don’t know if  Greece can do the same. As I’ve said before Greece need all their players healthy in order to get the best results.

Every team needs their players healthy to get best results.

I heard the coach is thinking of resting some key players in the first game in order for them to be fresh for Bosnia. In my opinion this is a big mistake. They don’t have the talent to do that.

13:40 he said the most stress / anxiety that he has in his life is for the Greek national team and he never has had that on the club level and he's tired.

Then don’t play. Simple. Put someone else in with a better attitude. I see this all over. Guys giving up because things don’t go their way. Sucking out cuz they’re not doing well. Oh well. Life’s not fair. Deal with it. No one blamed him when lukaku destroyed him in that thing goal. Look in the mirror.

These are still players that, if healthy, would be on the NT. Simply stating facts, regardless if you consider them lame excuses. Bosnia is healthy. Look at their Wikipedia for quick reference. None of their important players that have been called up in the last 12 months are injured except GK Bergovic. Manolas injury is a serious loss and, like I stated above, the rest are all NT calibre players.

Manolas injury is serious I agree. The others I mentioned are terrible.

I agree that you can’t overlook anyone and you need to take each team serious but In such a short qualifier this is not a “marathon” and one loss can make or break your tournament.. remember it’s a tournament not a season.. If we lose to Bosnia that can very well determine our  fate.. You have no time to slip up in these short tournaments that’s why getting off to a strong start can make all the difference in the world..

What I was trying to say was a lot of unexpected things will happen. Points will be dropped against teams you’re not expecting to drop points to. And points will be gained against favourites also. Last campaign Greece tied Bosnia twice. Drew in Belgium and Bosnia lost to Cyprus. Never look ahead.
