  1. If the game between PAOK and AEK ended 1-0 that would mean 6pts swing back to PAOK leaving us 2pts behind AEK. Before the Olympiakos match PAOK were hot favourites to take out the Championship via the betting agencies. The odds for the game itself were lob sided towards PAOK like we were Barcelona playing against a 2nd div side. Being football though it means nothing and we'll never know who would of won that match.

I wouldn't say aek winning is great for Greek football in the fashion it has occurred. As I said earlier i dont recall seeing a championship ever won like this in any other league around the world.

From today and for decades to come AEKtzides will always need to come out and defend this championship. If it was won purely on the football field all the AEK forums and social media would be going ballistic with jubilation but i dont see it all with this championship. Just feels quite sombre with the aek fans.

  2. So you admit you won only because we fucked up.. as in the elements of PAOK being the president and fans not the team itself. I don't recall a championship won because of another team's deduction ever across any league around the world. You'll always have the cloud over your championship and that is FACT.

  3. We've sucked it up. Exactly like Bananas said you guys will NEVER admit that your championship was only because of PAOKs 6pt swing against aek and 3pts against olympiakos. That is FACT

You should be out celebrating rather than coming in to check up on a very PRO PAOK forum. I guess you get a hard on checking up on us whinging

Best team in Greece, all year long!  Much deserved championship!!  Ole ole ole

I have noticed that aektzides all around the world have been adding those bolded adjectives against their championship in forums and social media. When you need to add those adjectives it screams insecurity and the need to convince your audience of your worthiness of a true champion.

Amorgo, you obviously cant see the sarcasm here. What's even funnier with your response is the assumed righteous that the final should be played in Athens in OAKA or even in your new stadium.

Some stats for you. PAOK has played against an Athenian team in the Cup Final 15 times. 1 match was a home & away series (against olympiakos in 1992), 1 match was at a neutral venue (against AEK in 2017) and the remaining 13 matches have been played in "neutral" Athens. Yeah PAOK are just a bunch of whingers since the system has always been so fair in Greece with PAOK

  6. @jvc as Blackhawk stated, Savvidis has taken responsibility and apologized. I have stated in all my previous posts that what he did was wrong and that he should get punished. Heck i even said that PAOK's punishment is just.

Why i posted was because AEK and all aektzides jumped on the hysteria of social media and the news (which sensationalizes everything) saying that AEK were petrified of re-entering the pitch. Well watch the video that has surfaced and you can clearly see the bunch of them taking selfies and laughing away. I don't see why I can't bring this point up?? I don't personally think this will change anything in the courts but hey why not negate AEK's claim of being petrified.

What some people also don't understand is that the events of the PAOK-AEK match is going through the court. The court is a tribunal to judge/adjudicate what happened in accordance to the rule of the law. Laws have thousands of sections & subsections & clauses & parts etc etc which can be open to interpretation and some parts can negate other parts. Hence why you need a lawyer. The chains of events that night in Toumba were ALL part of the ecosystem and every single part needs to be examined. It is just reality of what happens in every court case. Judges can't just judge a whole hearing/case by what is being circulated by memes on social media or by a sensationalized news heading.

AGAIN I AM NOT stating that PAOK goes unpunished but other infringements regardless how minor should not go unpunished regardless if you believe that the scale of those incidents do not match up with your hysterical view of what happened. At the very least all events that occurred should not go unnoticed so that measures can be put in place so they don't reoccur again.

You guys have a very bizzar attitude to this and it’s disgusting tbh. You wanna talk about death??

Your actions your concequences, what happened 10 years ago is very different to this.

Well yeah this time it favours the all mighty aek so yeah its very different. Go and enjoy your paper title

  8. It's stupid and costly yes but not mindboggling.

He did it because PAOK has been at the wrong end of the stick many times over the past 30yrs. With referring calls going against us, with known refs officiating PAOK games whereby its publicly known they support a certain team, punishments not handed out evenly over fan violence over the last 30yrs, scandals of other teams going unpunished etc etc. The above was all part 1

Part 2 is the fact that the referee and linesman BOTH called the goal a goal in the PAOK-aek match. Do you feel that the goal being OVERTURNED due to pressure from aek is normal and right?

Well part 3 was just an emotional explosion for the above. A dumb stupid act BUT it was also a statement of enough is enough with the state of the game in Greece.

AEK has paid and will continue paying a price..

Well they didnt pay any price for the fiasco that lead to Savvidis storming the pitch, instead they were REWARDED 3pts in a league apparently  "owned by PAOK"

Funny that the officials after being abused and man handled by AEK decided to OVERRULE what they originally deemed a goal. Makes you wonder that they obviously didnt think that PAOK was paying/influencing their payroll.

  10. Disagree that PAOK's punishment was wrong. Regardless if it was Savvidis' act alone he was not allowed on the pitch like a fan.

What they got wrong was that the game was 1-0 to PAOK so the 3pts should have come off that. Then REWARDING the antics of AEK and awarding the match they lost 1-0 to a 0-3 win with 3 pts is what makes no sense. That's where the aektzides will turn a blind eye and will happily take a result on paper.

  11. I personally have no problem with the actual punishment handed out to PAOK and Savvidis. Savvidis' punishment still allows him to continue investing and being involved with all aspects of the team apart from attending their matches. By entering the pitch then the team faces point deduction the same way if a fan entered the pitch.

What I have an issue is that going forward AEK and all teams have a green light to pressure every referring decision with abuse and man-handling to overturn decisions.  There will be no repercussions after. Also the officials that were involved with the aek and Olympiakos matches can continue officiating matches so will next season be any better?

I wonder if fifa/UEFA ever saw the fiascos with the aek-atromitos cup final where it was one of the most obvious rigged matches of all time (along with olympiakos Tripoli cup final). Also in the same match aek fans went on a rampage and attacked atromitos team and families. When I mean attacked they threw projectiles and BASHED. The punishment handed out was a little fine and a couple matches with no fans.

Anyways let's hope for a clean no drama filled season next year...

  12. Action is what we all want but not selected action or when it conveniently suits certain teams over others.

Hopefully FIFA/UEFA or any other eternal body can also investigate the p*****es and m*****es that have plagued Greek football for decades including all the favourable calls and decisions that have gone in favour of ALL teams

I had some questions revolving around the more-modern history that goes into the naming dispute. We all know the ancient Macedonians were a Greek tribe, and that has been pretty well attested to in archaeology and via surviving texts. My question is, how many of the Greeks in Makedonia today are "ntopioi" whose families have been there for centuries and not either Pontic refugees or just Hellenized Slavs?

For example, I've seen youtube videos of ethnic Skopjian folklore songs being played at paniyiria up in Edessa and Florina. When I briefly visited Edessa, I didn't get the impression that there were many Slavophones there other than some touristy types. It seems like prior to the population exchange, the majority of Greeks in Makedonia were concentrated around Thessaloniki. It's kind of off-topic and tangential to the naming dispute but it's something I've always wondered and not known too well about

    Very good questions and thoughts!

I would say anywhere between 25-50% of Greeks currently in Greece would have roots from Thraki, Asia MInor and Pontus. There is a register of Greek refugees that came into Greece produced in 1928. This register may not represent 100% of all Greeks refugees but it lists a majority and the list is of refugees who were given a plot of land by the Greek government. Of the 1.2m on the register, 638k settled in Macedonia. Here is the link to the registry which i have found my great grandfather's name who came from Anatoliki Thraki to Serres:

    http://pontosworld.com/index.php/pontus/news/75-directory-of-ottoman-greek-refugees.

Ps - not only would there have been Slavs that were Hellenized over the the last millenia but Hellenes who would have also been Slavicized. Therefore there could be Skops (i would guess a small %) who could actually be descendants of the Ancient Macedonian Dynasty.

  14. Lol @Soprano76 and @Blackhawk so Olympiakos will do whatever they can for the following outcome:

    1) AEK is punished 3pts for not coming out to finish the match and

    2) PAOK is docked 6 pts which includes the 3pts for winning the match due to point 1) and then 3 pts for Savvidis and co storming the pitch.

Would not be shocked if that happens and only in Greece that the olympiakos appeal for the crowd incident with aek is being postponed till after the PAOK-AEK outcome!

  15. Completely agree that anyone can be and feel Greek and can do so through different means. It can be through the love of the culture, the history, the food, the language etc.  Your identity definitely does not need to be defined by your genes.

I personally love the DNA testing element. Seeing the shared DNA with other ethnicities just makes me ponder about the history of all the different population movements that occurred across the area and the historical demography. I like the fact that we from the Balkans are all a mixed salata. The notion of being a "pure" Greek (which doesn't exist) actually bores me.

  16. According to the article it states that Slavic ancestry can vary up to 14% of the DNA the Peloponnesean population samples. Therefore, this study actually proves Slavic ancestry rather than disproves it as the Slavic DNA has remained in the gene pool for 1000yrs in an area which probably had the least amount of different Balkan ethnicities living in the area.  If the population samples were further north in Greece i bet that figure would increase. Another thing to note is that they are comparing the Slavic DNA of the pure Slavs which are from your Polish, Belorussian type Slavs. If they compared the Slavic DNA of those from the Balkans the results would be very different.

I dont know why but many Greeks get very sensitive when Slavic DNA is mentioned. The Balkans has been always been a melting pot of different ethnicities for over a millennia and so it is not unreasonable that we all share very close DNA. Most of my Greek friends even get surprised when I tell them that Thessaloniki's population was mixed for a millenia between Greeks, Bulgarians, Turks & Jews pretty much up to the early 1900's.

From what i have read usually mainland Greeks have a closer DNA match with other Balkan peoples and the Islanders of Greece have a closer DNA match with the Italians.

It's not PAOK that I want punished....It's the Greek football system.   If there's stiff penalty against Savidis I'm fine with it....but if they continue on business as usual after that....that will accomplish nothing.  I want Greece banned from European football now....2 years minimum.

Bullshit. As soon as the incident happened you have been saying that PAOK should be relegated

Ela re file, man handled and verbally abused the official?

There is not a single mention of that anywhere, your just deflecting here.

My point is pointing the finger elsewhere like your doing now & more so before.

Bravo for being a man and admitting about PAOK.

AEK has had their moments in the past too I’m not denying that nor said they weren’t I just don’t get why we are bringing that up.

Sorry I'm not deflecting as i have admitted PAOK should get punished. I dont think i need to keep repeating this. You on the other hand are deflecting. You still have not manned up that aek harassed the officials. Im raising this incident because it was this incident that caused Savvidis' brain explosion. Again it was a stupid act and he should get punished but the chain of event should definitely not be ignored. The overturned goal at that point was a championship deciding factor. Emotions are high and because of all the historical corruptions at play, Savvidis saw this as another play at a ref going against PAOK. You like many fans are feeding off the media frenzy which only highlight elements that will sell a story. Its all too easy for you and the aektzides to be wanting PAOK to fall apart so you can win the championship. The courts and governing bodies when neutral will ignore hype and look at the facts and chain of events. I think you dont like this part because aek may be subject to some minor punishment.

When did I say my team were angels or that Greek football was squeaky clean?? Lol

PAOK Sydney, I’ve been following Greek Football for many many years, I dunno why your going there but you again prove my point.

What point? I have admitted that my team needs to be punished for the actions of Savvidis.

You though have not manned up. I dont see you calling out aek the way the players and management behaved by manhandling and verbally abusing the officials until the decision was overturned.

Olympiakos is on trial today, provided they lose the 3 points that is being dealt with

I am talking about the now and non of what you day can be ignored but we can't go back on that and excuse what has happened today

As I keep saying, take some accountability, you guys all shout and scream for a royal commission and a new start but can never admit how badly PAOK has F***ed themselves and Greek Soccer world wide!

At least you admit PAOK should be punished :cheers-421530:

Most PAOK supporters aren't denying accountability or punishment for PAOK. I am not excusing what happened yesterday. I am not sure how long you have been following Greek football for but i can tell you that Greek football has been plagued with corruption and fan violence. It hasn't all of a sudden become all this since yesterday and i disagree with you that PAOK f**ed Greek football.

And by the way injustices of the past can be addressed today. Any crime committed in history can be dealt with today so not sure why we cant go back in time. It also allows an outsider or someone new to Greek football ( im guessing you) to understand the mentality.

Its very easy to pounce on the event that just unfolded and make PAOK look like the worst club on the face of the earth. It actually highlights how much other clubs in Greece NEED a scapegoat.

3 weeks ago AEK officially asked for Greek football to be suspended until court cases were resolved. Now all of a sudden AEK fans are up in arms complaining that the league has been suspended as this punishes all clubs not PAOK. Hypocrites.

AEK fans slammed PAOK for winning the Cup final in 2017 for a goal that was scored from an offside position labelling PAOK cheats and accusing Savvidis of running Greek football. Do you not recall 2011??? Let me remind you what Atromitos owner said

"This took Greek soccer back at least 100 years" AEK won the cup today because it had to win. Everyone saw what circumstances we had to play in?".

AEK fans also stormed the pitch that day and clashed with police and ATTACKED Atromitos players. This has all been forgotten now and PAOK are the culprits of the mess in Greek Soccer according to you.

Panathinaikos fans are demanding PAOK be relegated yet their club has not been relegated like Iraklis for being in debt. Hypocrites.

Olympiakos fans are labeling Savvidis as a corrupt owner who has influence over the Greek Super League yet its ok and all forgotten that their owner has been that for 20 years. Its all forgotten that he is involved in match fixing. They want to label Savvidis a gangster for carrying a pistol yet police found tonnes of heroin on one of his ships. Hypocrites

Again I am NOT excusing what Savvidis did last night. It was STUPID and should be punished 100%, BUT don't come here and act like your team are angels and that Greek football was a church before events that have occurred at TOUMBA. Greece is a mess for a reason and so is Greek soccer. It needs a royal commission an a massive overhaul of management
