Not a fan of her (music) but worthwile mentioning: Haris Alexiou announced her retirement as her voice lets her down.

She is a legend, one of the best ever. She is not really in my playlist either, but she is still very respected and loved for her work. Her resume speaks for itself, in and outside Greece she has been a star for decades. Just about half a century of performing.

In my student days, I was working at the Sheraton as concierge for a while, she was on one of her North American stops and it was an honor to serve her. I dealt mostly with her assistant, but it was a very cool experience, I was the only one in the hotel who knew who the h she was lol

As long as Greece remains a third world country corruption wise, only foreign refs should be calling the games.

Greece is a third world country mentality wise mostly. I think personally when everyone who is over 45-50 old right now dies and makes way for the younger more open minded people to take more control and have more influence in Greece the nation will see brighter days. Just my own hunch (sorry old dudes). There are exceptions, but the older mentality of many in Greece is what holds the nation back in many ways, soccer included.

Soccer is a reflection of society, the old ways need to go, every country has some corruption but we have been robbing with two hands forever and not taking the basic measures to provide a future for the next generations that will have a  quality of life or the opportunities and privileges on the same level (never mind better) that we have benefited from. Younger people see and have more access to what is going on internally and outside the country, I have hope, but it will take time.

Which it is. And if the Greek ref does not conform than the ref's business gets blown up. Or you are attacked by four masked men that traveled from Athens to Larisa and back to Athens. Or if you are on the ref's commission and you don't conform with someones wishes, you summer house in Halkidiki gets set on fire. Just 3 examples from the past few years that nobody has gone to jail for yet.

As long as Greece remains a third world country corruption wise, only foreign refs should be calling the games.

Or you are confronted by an armed man and his goons on the pitch on live tv.

whats the point of this topic??? ?

    Giovanni is old

I know this is from ancient times and this poster is probably long gone but, look at this blasphemous ingrate who dares (dared?) to call himself a soccer fan....for shame sir. Someone should wash your mouth with soap for this f-ery.

  6. Henry Onyekuru is a Nigerian player, but he has said that he wants to stay at Galata. Mitroglou I would not mind having back but I'm not so sure he would be Martins signing of choice...The young Belgian striker who we loaned to Adjaccio is supposed to given a shot to make next years team, and Martins really likes Ahmed Hassan. Time will tell...we are going to hear a lot of names until the summer is over, I am looking forward more to the return match with Wolves for now, when the season is done for good then we can fiend over transfer rumors more proper like IMO.
