  1. Thanks for the links and info lads. Found a link but would definitely prefer a subscription for long term solution.

Very pedestrian effort so far ... PAS packing the box nicely per usual. Really need to improve quality of our chance creation 2nd half. Try and work it in the box more with dribbles not just crosses.

  2. I certainly understand how negotiations work, it's just, once they signed the domestic TV rights to Nova (home and away) the clubs investment in PAOKTV essentially became about international viewership. I'm surprised they didn't obtain exclusivity for home games for the international market.

Now, it's entirely possible that the price/bonuses that were negotiated were in light of PAOKTV granting Nova a concurrent right to the international broadcast (or getting an unlimited license from Nova for PAOKTV to broadcast) - in which case I trust they broke down the numbers and it was to their benefit.

At the end of the day, I'm pleased to be able to watch these games and hopefully the club squeezed all the juice out of the lemon. The PAOKTV broadcasts were refreshing and the quality of the product was steadily improving. I hope they continue to invest in the project.

Looks like PAOK TV has some competition on their hands.

Novasports has launched an international streaming channel called novasportsworld HD that will stream the all Superleague games including PAOK home games on their platform. You can subscribe monthly ( 14.90) or for the full season (€ 83.90)

    More info here: http://nettvplusgreece.com/

    or here: https://online.novasports.gr/el

I cannot believe PAOK did not negotiate complete international rights for its home games. Fail. Still agree with @Dutch EagleI would gladly pay the extra $80 to watch away games without pirated feeds, even if it lines the pockets of an unsavory Nova

Grimaldo is starting but is apparently coming off a long injury lay-off so hopefully he's a little rusty.
I don't think Crespo will be expected to be overly attacking, we'll do most of our attacking down the left through Giannoulis. Since Matos is on the outs, Lyratzis was only recalled to the first team training sessions 2 weeks ago, Crespo was basically the only option left.

I just think its bad planning - Matos has been on the outs for weeks and weeks, Limnios transfer was clearly in the works for weeks as well, even before Rodrigo's injury, they should have kept Lyratzis training with the group as insurance. Benfica is too good to just play one-handed.

  5. εμπρός αετέ!

let's go boys ... genuinely shocked that Lyratzis was not included on the squad, let's hope Grimaldo can't play because the dude is a handful and could wreck our right flank if he's not contained.

Edit: Interesting having Crespo out there -- works well when we defend but can he be relied upon to carry the ball upfield and distribute?

Hey everyone ! Myself and @paokarag4are going to start our radio show this evening. It’s going to be on Youtube. It may be a little rough around the edges to start but hope it gets to grow into something somewhat solid! Here’s the link

Congratulations on your first show. The only comment I think is the obvious, getting the sound equalized - one was too soft and the other was too loud, I need the Goldilocks special "just right" lol

I would be fascinated to learn how many people watch it. I have no context for how popular this may be for a non-Greek audience. My suspicion is, not very.

I think for casual fans, you are correct. For "die hard" football fans, if you could watch a game between the #1 v #2 Greek sides, which consist of a pretty well known club in Europe because of so many CL/EL participations, and a club that's gotten a lot of exposure thanks to proliferation of Twitter/Instagram snippets of Toumba's atmosphere the last 3-5 years ... those fans will flip it on if they are channel surfing and stay tuned if it's entertaining. I've had Laola1.tv and BeIN+ subscriptions before and I can tell you, I've watched some random South American derbies for no reason other than I recognized it was a meaningful ...

It sounds like it will get kicked to the league, and then we have the option of appealing to CAS?

first the decision goes to the Superleague for certification by a type of administrative judge, then there is an appeal right, then you could appeal to CAS. What I didn't realize is that the EEA does not require certain burden of proof to reach a decision.

  9. I certainly consider this a  success in light of how quickly it was thrown together and how the numbers (before the midway point) are already ahead of what NOVA offered. We don't have any visibility on the operational/overhead cost of this project so far, so I am reserving final judgment.

Regardless, with NOVA becoming a part of Alter Ego , PAOK will have zero expectation of receiving a fair TV contract in the coming years. I agree their media/marketing group appears to be the savviest, most progressive division within the club, but they better be formulating a plan to leverage this for next season and beyond.

I also wouldn't be upset at all if a group like FuboTV or DAZN decided to enter the market (like they did with Football League a few years ago) and snatch up PAOK and half the league as part of a digital TV package, so long as we got fair compensation in exchange. It would be nice to siphon some clubs from NOVA.
