Pao Summer 2019 Transfers And Pre-Season Talk
Paotrella replied to athinaios's topic in Panathinaikos FC
Its a sad state of affairs where there is very little excitement during the summer transfer season. In saying that, Dabizas is the best hope we have of securing a hidden gem of a signing. Kolovos is a good example of giving raw talent a shot at redemption, these are the signings we can aspire to now. Also securing young talent such as Nunes and the Greek talent signed last year will give us an opportunity to hit the jackpot if they develop and earn a few million in transfer fees. That is right now the most chance we will have of financial rescue. Otherwise a washed up veteran will only cost money and give us minimal upside. -
Mods, can we please urgently delete all posts not related to the topic. We should not be reading personal matters between posters.

The souvlakia were tastier in the referee dressing room at half time versus the souvlakia in the corporate suites. A man of his size needs good food in order to maintain his frame, he is perfectly entitled to chase the perfect meal.

Latest rumours going around are that he failed a roadside drink drive test. True or not, looks like this saga will have a Conceisao type ending.

^^^^ apart from Gilberto Silva, you are right: - Anderson - Paolo Souza - Cleyton - Gabriel - Bovio ? a few that come to mind.....

Lod was more of a box to box midfielder based on the scouting reports. He does have the ability to score but was not seen as a 10ari.

Europa Play-Offs PAO-Qabala 2nd leg 27/08/2015 21:00
Paotrella replied to Lamiara ole's topic in Panathinaikos FC
Apart from the result, the way we played was just as terrible. Based on that performance we are no chance of winning the league. This is not a blessing in disguise. Furthermore the environment at the club will now be dark, new players will be questioning why they came. Sanchez was attacked by a fan after the match. He will struggle to adjust quickly. Nano attacked too. The recipe for further disappointment is well and truly there. -

The fans have been supportive until now. The reaction during the game shows that support is now being questioned. -

The fans will not let this go. They will demand answers, they will demand changes. PAO is nothing without its fans. -

That's it. Any claim to European pedigree is well and truly gone. We are worse than Atromitos. Kalloni would have fared better. Disgrace. -

No matter what happens in the league, Anastasiou is forever tainted now. His days are numbered. -

^^^^ So that justifies losing against Qabala??? I will not tolerate such a disgrace and neither will most fans. How can Atromitos match it with Fenerbahce? Do they have a squad for Europe? -

I predicted a 3-0 win to PAO and based on Qabala's experience and capabilties, this should have been easily achieved. Unfortunately Anastasiou did not give this match high importance. Leaving Berg, Ninis and Lagos on the bench and experimenting with Lod up front was more experimental than our friendly matches. Very disappointing. We have the skill level and players to smash this team. The fact we played so poorly reflects on the coach and his ability to get this team ready. Europe is not a priority for our coach. His starting 11 today proved this. For me this is not good enough. Succeeding in Europe is part of our DNA. This is what made the club so great. Our rivals envy our European track record. Dont go disrespecting this and what the fans want by leaving Berg out in order to focus on the weekend SL match. I demand success and focus in Europe, dont disrespect the fans. -

I stand by my prediction, 3-0 away win and 5-0 at home. The pressure is on and the players will deliver. -

Ok, Abeid signing is almost out of the way and the focus is now on the match in 2 days time. Expected line up as follows: -----------------Steele------ Wemmer-Tavla-Koutroubis-Xouxoumis -----------Lagos-------- -----Zeca----------Pranjic-- -----------Ninis-------- -------Karelis--Berg---- Pranjic will be required to boost the midfield and Nano is not yet ready for 90 minutes, hence the LB spot is for Xouxoumis to seize. I also wouldnt be surprised if Kaltsas gets some playing time along with Petric. We really are thin on the ground with DM's. If Lagos gets injured, Thelander will debut and Koutroubi will be our sole DM. -
Im glad I am not the only one who noticed this. Something about his approach so far does not feel "right". Yes, he may be on break and yes he wants to spend time with his hot missus. But fark me, we pay you 1 million farking euros, you can at least pretend that you are hard at work to impress the club. Lets not forget that he has only played one half of football out of 3 important games to date (including the upcoming Qabala game).

1. Astera 2. PAO 3. AEK 7. PAOK Gayvro relegated due to match fixing scandal along with Xanthi. Marcelinho to be the superstar this season.

Anastasiou is feeling the pressure more than any other time during his tenure at the club. Previous 2 years we were screwed financially and anything he achieved was considered a bonus. Now the expectations have stepped up and the pressure of the results are already being felt. However....... if we ignore friendly results (which we should always do) then it still too early to judge. As I said before, Brugge were the favourites against us and things panned out as expected. Against Qabala, a comfortable scoreline is expected. In the Super League, we expect a positive start and being in contention for championship after 10 rounds. If these 2 objectives can be achieved then we are on track and Anastasiou can breath easier. I agree with Freeze that we are not Europe material and wont be with the players we currently have. Win the championship, get more money for transfers then we can start talking about a return to glory days.

Whats the big issue if they have Turkish flags at the game? Why should that upset us? If they really wanted to bait us then they could have gayvro flags everywhere. Panathinaikos is not a political representative of Greece and should not be used as vehicle for politics. If we were to judge our opponents based on ethnicity, then that club down at the limani would be much liked and respected. :D If they want to make this game political, good luck to them. I personally couldnt care less, other than expect a 8-0 aggregate score in favour of PAO.
