We do have some other options that will defend - Biseswar is an obvious choice to start on the left, and at least he's not out of shape. But he's maybe our most out-of-form attacking player. Pelkas definitely has the legs to cover the ground on the left side, but I think he's more effective up the middle. It wouldn't be shocking to me to see both start though. Another plus for Augusto - he's faster than Esiti, which can be helpful in the middle.

I hope this is correct: https://inpaok.com/630985/skepsis-gia-allages-apo-fereira-2/. I'm not convinced Augusto is the better choice in the middle (vs Esiti) but Misic needs to play where he's most effective (and that ain't up top). My hope: --Pashalakis-- --Matos--Varela--Ingason--Giannoulis-- --Misic--Augusto-- --Limnios-- --Lamprou-- --Pelkas--Akpom-- I bet you Vieirinha and Swiderski will start though.

BIG rotation needed. Both because of the physical issues noted in the other thread, and because of the spark that seems to be missing from these starters. Fortunately we have the quality on the bench to play a new-look squad. Let's see if he does it.

Penalty converted ugh
-
Yeah they know he lacks fitness and that Giannoulis will always push up. An obvious vector for attack
-
For me it's Mauricio that should go out for Pelkas (though he did just intercept that backpass nicely!)
-
WOW what a close one by Swiderski. Misic put that on a silver platter for him

Whoops, missed that. Oh well!

Guess Stoch isn't going to Turkey after all, judging by the date... Portugal's transfer window closes tomorrow btw. Haven't heard anything about Soares but perhaps there are cold feet what with the drama here now.

I BLEED RED, BABY

Standard Liege may be interested in Mihojevic. inPAOK reporting 800k price tag. Stories from a month or two ago implied that his current team wanted to buy him as well, but if I were him I'd def go with the Belgians.

Thread of the year contender right here

Two months wouldn't surprise me if it's a tendon- or ligament-related issue. Poor guy. Our depth will take a big hit; it looks like Mihaj isn't going anywhere though so at least we have someone on the roster.

(sorry to hijack the thread, but...) Regardless of what's going on in Greece, the women's game in general is underfunded and still in the early stages of its development. The absolutely crazy swings in scores between teams is a good sign of that - you'd expect in an efficient system (with a base level of skill that comes from being coached, supported, etc) that teams would weed out outlier scorelines. In the women's game in particular, I feel you get mostly outliers. I think if I have time this weekend I'll try to find some good historical data on various teams from men's and women's leagues and plot out the regression, as that is easier to see as a scatterplot. My claim/thesis is basically that if you look at it as a function of time (x-axis on a chart) that you'll see a tighter grouping of aggregate goals per game (y-axis) as a league or sport "ages." This is what is referred to as "regression towards the mean" for the statistically-minded among us. If anyone has any ideas for good sources on that kind of goals-per-game data please feel free to share! The wider the set the better the results.

What, exactly, happened?
-
Guys, FIFA doesn't give a s%$#!. They do not need to enforce anything consistently if it does not suit them - if PAOK gets screwed, they won't even notice. If it happened to a team that mattered, they would step in. We will get zero support from FIFA/UEFA or CAS on this.
-
My lineup: --Pashalakis-- --Matos--Varela--Ingason--Giannoulis-- --Misic--Esiti-- --Limnios-- --Vieirinha-- --Pelkas--Akpom-- Pelkas and Akpom will offer a lot of Lucescu's much-loved "aggressivity." We can win this. I want these guys to start angry, though.
-
FIFA won't step in to help us - they never have before. And CAS will do nothing as well, to reference Savvidis' instagram post from about five minutes ago. The only way out of this is to convince the league early.
-
The thing about CAS is that they'll need to see a reason to actually take the case...right? This does not happen every time someone appeals to them. Recall the last time we appealed to them...

What's the range of possible deductions? 3-10 points? So in other words, if we get deducted 10 points and still crush everyone, we can show we won the championship with even bigger balls than before right?
-
Same here. We're still better; they just have to get their s%$#! together. If the midfield does its job, we should be able to win. Psst Abel, play Esiti and Misic there, okay?
