  1. Time for the military to stabilize things, and bring Greece back to respectability.

Being on your hands and knees begging the Germans must end.

And what is the military going to do to bring back Greece to respectability when the whole country is BROKE

  2. My grandmother who lives in a village got $120 this week of her pension.  The protocol in a village is that the mailman delivers the pensions in cash for people unlike a big city where you go to the bank if you don't know.  Some people from the village drove to the main office to see when they will be getting the rest and were told they don't have anymore money.  The next step will be social unrest.

  3. I love how the "Rockstar" finance minister is saying that Greece can be trusted.  Seriously, thanks for the laugh.  The Syriza SCUM are dinosaurs from the 70's with no ideas and just there to cause mayhem among civilized people.  These people idolize November 17.  That says it all right there.

  4. I love how he addresses the country daily with the same rhetoric about the big bad EU and he won't be blackmailed lol.

I'm actually fearful that the Syriza scum are performing a coup and taking over the country.  If anyone reads some of the Greek papers, they are doing some fishy things to get "no" votes.  Its like all the rules went out the window in regards to paying taxes, drivers licenses etc...  These scum may need to be removed by the military.

  5. Don't believe whatever comes from that commie scum.  The EU is tired of dealing with this filth.  First it was throwing out nazi reparations and now flipping back and forth on deals and then calling a referendum.  Nope, the EU should just choke out Greece.  Let the referendum do the talking.  Go on with it.  This Syriza idiot thought he would sink the world's financial markets with the "default" but nobody really cares anymore unless you own stock in Gyros meat or Feta Cheese.

  6. I think we agree that the debt has to be reduced (haircut) if Greece has a chance of economic growth. However, as I often say, let me pay off the entire Greek debt. Poof. It's gone. Now, how many of you think that without any meaningful reforms, Greece will accumulate another huge debt.....  This is the crux of the matter.

In my estimate, the corruption is so deep that only an outside force could make Greece reform its political & economic system. We all agree that governments have been irresponsible and corrupt. But how about the people? Almost everyone has milked the system one way or another. OK, I also agree, if a system is so corrupt, it's a total mess you can't escape it...

Some people don't get this part.  You need outside forces.  Greeks are so corrupt they can't be trusted.  Another example that isn't pointed out is how you have to have a "meso" to get a job.  You can have someone be super smart with a degree and the whole world behind them but the neighbor's child will be hired.  Its stupid s%$#! like this which compounds the situation.

  7. Syriza has to be the worst group of people ever.  Lying scum.

They are telling everyone to vote no but 2.6 million people are receiving pensions.  None of them is stupid enough to vote NO. Because the other option is no money or worse get paid in drachma.  Europe needs to keep squeezing Greece to get rid of Syriza.  Tighten the rope.  Its for the good of the country. We need discipline and a sense of direction.  Nobody in Greece can offer us this.

  8. Gyros are you sure they got their facts correct?

Greece's number one export is oil at 16 billion per year.

Argentina's number one export is fish....Those are the facts....So the source is talking out of their fuken a##.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/26/business/an-echo-of-argentina-in-greek-debt-crisis.html?_r=0

Oil is an export because they refine it but with drachma, you aren't buying oil to refine because nobody wants funny money.

  9. So they leave, Greece has no money. Remember, we are an import economy and no one will want our drachma.  How will Greece pay its pensioners? How will Greece pay for law enforcement? Basic needs such as medicine, food?  We are the ones needing funds.  We default, we still owe that money!!!! We may negotiate some sort of write off but even Argentina paid some % of its debt to its creditors.  I do not think the average Greek understands what is at stake.  The deal we are getting stinks (the Samaras administration was getting to the point of building credibility with the Troika and would have gotten way better terms) but the alternatives are far far worse!!!!

Exactly.  I posted an article by the NY Times a few days ago on how Argentina and Greece are not alike.  Argentina is rich in resources while our biggest exports are fish and cotton.  The EU is paying to keep the lights on.  People don't realize it.  All the farmer subsidies from the EU too.  All the new road construction (EU).  To think the drachma will not make it 100x worse is laughable. We are a little kid and the EU is our parent.  We need them.  We are not capable of doing anything of value because we are a worthless society and people.

  10. If the people vote yes, you need new elections.  You can't have an elected government that doesn't want to negotiate and is loudly telling everyone to vote no lead a country where the majority want yes (If that happens which I think will)

Also, I have to laugh at the people who are proudly telling everyone to vote no and have no idea what a catastrophe a default will be.  The average pension in Greece is around 830 Euros right now while in Romania and Bulgaria its $250 Euros.  It doesn't take a math genius to figure out you will have one third the spending power and still be without a job.

  11. Yes we will and he is correct as that is exactly what this is.  The NWO bankers are cutting off funds, forcing the banks to shut down to institute panic and fear in the general public.  Tsipras called their bluff and now they are pissed so they are using the age old tactic of fear to get people to vote in favour of new deal and keep Greece aboard the S.S. Titantic Europa.  This shows how easy malleable humans are, you get can them to do or believe anything you want just by using something as simple as fear.

Greece needs reforms.  They spend more money than they bring in.  The banks aren't going to keep on giving away free money to support the spending habits of drunken sailor.  Either get in line with the rest of the world or figure it out yourself with drachmas.

  12. The hero for the pony tailed communists is about to speak in a few minutes to announce this.

I'm guessing he will blame the EU for blackmail, humiliation, etc...

This guy is using the playbook of Hugo Chavez and the Greek people will hopefully wake up.

  13. The banks and the stock exchange are not opening tomorrow.

    Let the chaos begin tomorrow.

Now reading banks closed for the whole week.

Thanks Syriza.  This is on you.  We are turning into a shithole country.

  14. One person has managed to crash the economy to depths not seen before.

In the middle of tourism season, the country literally has no money and tourists are canceling plans left and right.  The only way we make money and they screw it up.

Now we have a sketchy referendum vote with a tricky worded question about accepting terms that don't even exist on paper.

Greeks are idiots.  They deserve this.  The years of the Kaffenio talk have made them think they were smarter than everyone else.  The world's scholars on political, financial, and social affairs. I still remember the cockiness of the people in 2005 after the Olympics.  Now they are pathetic beggers.

No country is going to save Greece either.  Who wants to be burden with dead weight.

  15. How can he bargain harder?  Isn't obvious that the Europeans are sick of the Greeks lying and stalling? The other thing is why all the lying to everyone in Greece.  He kept telling the people that a deal is close on a daily basis for the last 3-4 months.  Why not have the referendum a month ago when they told him too?  A head of state or even a head of a newspaper stand should be honest and up front.  They should not play games with everyone.  Greece has taken 1000 steps backwards in regards to a lot of things and there is no country in the world that will trust us.  We are liars and crooks.  We play games and walk out on meetings after 45 minutes.  We waste everyone's time.  We aren't trustworthy.  This is not how civilized people do business.  But we aren't civilized.  Shame on the banks for lending us money.  They should have sunk us back then to teach us a lesson.

  16. Gas stations are getting cleaned out, ATM's are getting emptied, grocery stores are getting ravaged.  It shows you how much confidence the people have in this 1974 Moscow student government they have.  The spineless Tsipras doesn't even have the balls to make a decision.  Hey, you got elected with your mandate by the people so step up and say "no" and move the country to the Drachma instead he's a typical communist coward hiding behind a "referendum".

I can't believe how stupid the Greek population is.  We all called this months ago and we don't live there.  What a shameful country.  The only thing they have going for them is the nice weather at this point.  Other than that, they are F***ed for years and years.

  17. People are lining up at ATM's tonight.  Grocery stores are going to get cleared tomorrow.  The EU is withdrawing the latest proposal so they can't have a referendum on something that isn't in play.  Hospitals in Greece don't even have cotton.  But hey what do I know, the Greeks voted this guy in.  Just a typical communist moron that is turning Greece into a typical communist wasteland.  The pony tailed 35 year old unemployed philosophers love Cuba and Venezuela.  Well you'll be living it soon.
